The best podcasts for Black Music Month...and beyond

Who am I?

I'm a podcaster, producer and editor. Currently working on They Reminisce Over You, which has been active for two years now. I chose this topic because June is Black Music Month, and I feel that Black music and it's contributions to American culture is something that should be acknowledged all the time, not just in June. These are some of the podcasts that I feel that do a great job of doing just that.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

They Reminisce Over You is a podcast that celebrates and honors the best music, movies, and TV from the past. Hosted by me and my wife, Christina, we delve into the careers and legacies of some of the biggest names in hip hop, R&B, and pop culture. From discussing the groundbreaking music of Missy Elliott and Mary J. Blige, to exploring the iconic moments in TV and film, like the chaos at the ’95 Source Awards, we have something for everyone. We hope to not only have our listeners "reminisce" over the artists, movies, and TV shows that have shaped our lives, but hopefully inspire them to dig a little deeper into the topics that we speak about.

What is my podcast playlist about?

Since June is Black Music Month, we wanted to spotlight some of our favorite podcasts that celebrate the genre all year round. Even though these are all based on Black music and nostalgia, each show approaches the topic in a different and unique way. You should subscribe, rate and review all of them. You won't be disappointed.
