Who am I?

Pusha T, born Terrence LeVarr Thornton on May 13, 1977, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record executive known for his sharp lyricism, distinctive voice, and gritty storytelling. Raised in Virginia Beach, Pusha T initially gained recognition as one half of the hip-hop duo Clipse, alongside his brother Gene Thornton, also known as No Malice. With production from The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), Clipse became known for hits like “Grindin’” and “When the Last Time.” I chose podcast music because I’ve always been passionate about the role sound plays in storytelling. Growing up, music was central in shaping my emotions, whether it was through movies, radio shows, or songs I loved. Over time, I began to appreciate how the right sound or melody could amplify narratives in podcasts, creating deeper connections with the audience. My experience working with audio projects and collaborating with songwriters like Allen has helped me hone my understanding of how music supports different formats, especially storytelling. I’ve also explored sound design, curating tracks that capture specific moods, and this hands-on experience has given me a unique perspective on how music can make or break a podcast episode. Ultimately, I’m drawn to the challenge of crafting the perfect soundscape for each podcast, knowing that music has the power to turn a simple conversation into an immersive experience for listeners.
