My name is Audra Russell and I am the creator of Between the Reads podcast. This is a platform I created exclusively for Black authors to talk about their books and their writing journeys. I am an avid reader and I believe deeply that Black stories are important and Black authors should be read all year long, not just during Black history month. Black authors are systematically marginalized in the publishing industry. Only a small number of Black authors receive any type of impactful publicity. There are literally thousands of Black authors out here in every genre from nonfiction to fantasy to science fiction to thrillers to mysteries and horror and beyond. My podcast interviews Black authors exclusively and gives them space to talk about their books and share their writing journeys.
