The best podcasts for audio drama completely produced by a single person.

Who am I?

I'm the creator of The Love Talker and the host of the audio drama discussion podcast The First Episode Of. My first audio drama, The Book of Constellations, was done entirely by myself, written, produced, and performed (with some music from CC sources). I have 20 years of experience in academic theatre and film, including directing, playwriting, adaptations, and acting. I have been working in audio drama for a couple of years now, and have learned a lot about what goes into making a show!

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

I did everything in the Book of Constellations by myself, except some of the music which I sourced from Creative Commons sources. I did this because while I knew writing and production and performance, I didn't know anything about the medium! So with no budget, I did it mostly to see what I could do.

What is my podcast playlist about?

These are all shows that also have a single creator that does everything (or almost everything) to tell an entire story!

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Malevolent

Why this podcast?

Probably one of the best examples of a single-person work, Malevolent's Harlan Guthrie not only tells a great story and does amazing production work and vocal performances, but the frame of the whole story is a perfect use of the audio medium. You should check out Guthrie's other solo work Devisor.
