2. Post Malone & His 12 Carat Toothache / EXCLUSIVE Johnny Depp Interview - What Are We Doing #episode45

Why this podcast?

This episode of "What Are We Doing" is a great choice for anyone interested in Post Malone because it delves into his new album, "Twelve Carat Toothache," and provides insights into his personal life. The hosts discuss Posty's smoking habits, revealing that he smokes 45 sticks a day, which caused the D.A.R.E program to face criticism and even shut down. While the episode also covers the Depp vs. Heard trial, including a leaked transcript and an exclusive interview with Johnny Depp, it maintains a light and entertaining tone. The podcast overall offers a mix of pop culture, celebrity news, and witty commentary, making it an enjoyable listen for fans of Post Malone and those looking for engaging discussions on various topics.

In this episode, we spend the first half discussing Post Malone and his new album, Twelve Carat Toothache. We also take a peek into some of Posty's personal life & how smoking 45 sticks a day caused the D.A.R.E program to shut down.

Remember the "Drug Abuse Resistance Education" program? They had crazy questionnaires in the back of the book for parents with insane questions. For example, if your child answered: “yes” to “did something exciting happen” or if they “tried hard to win a game” in the questionnaire, then parents should be wary of possible drug use. Many critics lambasted the book as borderline fraudulent, while harsher critics reserved that term for DARE itself.

We then FINALLY jump into the Depp vs. Heard trial. I'll be honest, it was too much to cover. But in this segment, I review the infamous poop-in-bed clip as well as Amber not knowing the difference between "pledge" & "donate". We then cover a LEAKED transcript from Johnny Depp & Amber Heard from outside of the courtroom just MINUTES after they step outside.

Finally, we end the episode with an EXCLUSIVE interview with Johnny Depp on his feelings towards Disney, Amber, the trial, and all of the support he gained from the trial alone.

5. Post Malone has us Running in Circles

Why this podcast?

If you're interested in Post Malone and enjoy digging deeper into the music you love, Switched on Pop is a fantastic podcast to listen to, and this episode, "Post Malone has us Running in Circles," is a great example of why. The hosts of the show explore Post Malone's hit song "Circles" and embark on a thoughtful analysis of its musical elements, sparking engaging discussions along the way. They delve into intriguing questions, such as why the minor IV chord evokes a sense of sadness and why Post Malone's vocal style may remind you of a particular animal. With references to other songs like Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 6, Finale, this episode provides a fascinating exploration of the musical influences and techniques that shape Post Malone's unique sound. Post Malone has confounded your hosts since he emerged on the scene, so this week we sit down to try and get to the bottom of our cycles of attraction and repulsion through deep analysis of his current hit, "Circles." Along the way, we discuss trenchant questions such as: How is the minor IV always the saddest of all chords? Why does Posty tend to sound like a certain ruminant mammal? And, what happens when you plug Tchaikovsky into a Wu Tang name generator?

Songs Discussed:

  • Post Malone - Circles, Rockstar, Stay, Congratulations, Candy Paint,
  • Fleetwood Mac - Landslide
  • Tchaikovsky - Symphony No 6, Finale

And don't forget to enter the Wu Tang Name Generator
