Who am I?
Horse racing has been my life since I was a teenager sneaking into Saratoga, where I grew up. Have a wide variety of experience in different areas and wanted to use that to better explain to those interested in racing, how things really worked and help people understand the why’s of racing that often aren’t that well described by establishment racing media. I started the Going in Circles Podcast in 2000 and after a few solo shows added Barry ‘the Sniper’ Spears as my co-host and it’s been a great ride since. I trained for 20 years on several circuits; bred, bought, sold horses for even longer than that as well as working as a racing official and currently work as an industry consultant.

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?
Going in Circles Big Monday show is in its 4th season now with well over 200 editions. We talk horse racing, the good, the bad and the ugly. Barry and I have a conversational discussion about the latest topics and races while telling stories and breaking down the issues in a manner that you may not get elsewhere. We don’t make picks though occasionally we will give some brief overviews. We also publish the Going in Circles Digest which is a written spinoff of the show and it can be found under that name on the Substack network.

Why this podcast?
It’s our show (Duhhhh) and if you aren’t listening to us you are missing out on viewpoints on racing topics that you won’t get anywhere else. Barry offers a unique perspective of a racing “outsider” who has educated himself well enough that he understands the issues better than most “insiders”. We don’t pull punches and for better or worse it makes for more interesting programing according to listeners. We do check out all the others in this list so give them a shot too
