The Great Adaptations Podcast from the The Glacier Trust is hosted by Dr. Morgan Phillips and features interviews with key thinkers on the topic of climate change adaptation. The podcast accompanies The Glacier Trust's first ever book "Great Adaptations - In the shadow of a climate crisis" by Morgan Phillips, published by Arkbound. For more information on the Great Adaptations project please visit The Glacier Trust website.
The aim of the book, the podcast, and the wider Great Adaptations project is simple: we want to get more people talking and thinking about adaptation. Adaptation is already happening and we can only expect to see more of it and more of its evil twin maladaptation. We want to shine a light on the great (and not so great) adaptations so that when people start designing and implementing their adaptation strategies, they adapt in ways that are socially just, compatible with mitigation efforts, and part of a wider transformative process. The adaptations to climate change that are already happening need to be scrutinised and celebrated in equal measure, Great Adaptations does that, but conversations about adaptation can’t exist in a vacuum, context is everything.

Podcast Host Jazzmen J. Wilson interviews GIS (Geographic Information Systems) professionals who work in utility, conservation, mining, cartography, programming, design, project management, film, and so much more!
GIS is a system that creates, manages, analyzes and maps all types of data. GIS is used broadly across many types of fields as noted above and has an impact on our daily lives.
Jazzmen started conducting personal interviews with people within the GIS community to discover what they do in their roles. She decided that it would be great to share with others who are interested in gaining knowledge about GIS or those who are already in the world of GIS to learn different point of views on how others apply this application in their careers.
This GIS Chat platform gives a chance to learn insight from the professionals who apply GIS in their careers but also a personal look on who these people are as individuals by keeping the conversation informal, informative, and honest.
Geoscience is central to all our futures. Whether it’s the energy transition, clean water, feeding the planet, mitigating climate change, or building sustainable cities, the world needs geoscientists. But is the discipline of geoscience fit for purpose? In this podcast, well known broadcaster Professor Iain Stewart - along with colleagues Cam McCuaig and Neil Evans from the resources company BHP - talk to "thought leaders" in the field of geoscience, to discover their vision for the future of the discipline. How does geoscience reinvent itself for the great societal challenges of the 21st century? This is a podcast that grew out of a Unesco research project exploring the relationship between geoscience and the UN's sustainability goals. It is intended as a showcase for creative thinking about the future of geoscience.(As a consequence of Covid lockdowns, all the interviews were conducted via video conference and the audio quality sometimes reflects this.)
