There is a widespread perception in the West that we live in a secular age, an age in which religion is at best an optional extra, if not a false delusion completely out of place. However, religion still arouses passion and causes controversy; it controls and transforms lives. An informed understanding of the contemporary world thus requires an appreciation of the role of religion in shaping ideas, world-views and actions that have an impact on the social as well as on the personal life of the individual. This unit gives you a glimpse into this fascinating area. This study unit is just one of many that can be found on LearningSpace, part of OpenLearn, a collection of open educational resources from The Open University. Published in ePub 2.0.1 format, some feature such as audio, video and linked PDF are not supported by all ePub readers.

Having overcome a near-death experience, I decided to close my life coaching practice (accessible previously on this page) and place my health at the forefront of my journey. My focus has pivoted towards advocating not only for myself but also for others. While life coaching tips will still find their place in my content, my main emphasis is now on patient advocacy through sharing my story. Six months ago, I dove into a career in the AI field, aiming to improve my financial stability in the face of future health instability. I want to clarify that I'm not seeking donations, but as my followers continue to grow - if anyone is moved to support me as an influencer, I'll genuinely appreciate it. In my posts, expect a blend of life coaching, patient advocacy, advice on communicating effectively with doctors, a bit of spirituality, as well as curated self-help and self-care resources from various online platforms. Oh, and humor, lots of humor. While the road to wellness may get slightly bumpier, I hope for many more meaningful years ahead. 🌟 Included are links to my previous content because I want you to see just how much living with chronic health issues impacts everything we experience as as our own advocates. The coexistence of multiple religious communities has been a source of both opposition and diversity since the very foundation of human civilization. This album explores the interaction of competing communities in compelling depth, highlighting periods and cities that experienced turbulence, and occasionally harmony, from such an intermingling of beliefs and ideas. A huge historical range, from the very beginnings of early Christianity to modern-day Africa, is rigorously examined in cultural, social and ideological terms. This material forms part of The Open University course AA307 Religion in history: conflict, conversion and coexistence.

Leandra Witchwood is a Modern Witch and small business owner based in South-Central, PA. She founded the Magick Kitchen Blog, which has now evolved into The Magick Kitchen Podcast, co-hosted with Elyse Welles of Seeking Numina.
