Who am I?

Hi! My name's Sarah and I love Teen Angst. As a Millenial, I feel like we grew up in an iconic YA era whether it was TV Shows that pushed the envelope or books about love and dystopian futures. Then, we all have random phases of obsession whether it's musicians, niche subjects like mythology, True Crime, and more. I'm not an expert on anything, but I LOVE a lot of different things. So, my list is more like a weird shuffle.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast is called, Smells Like Teen Angst. We started as a Twilight Podcast during the pandemic and it just went from there. We decided to come back as a book club and discussion show about the books/movies, and series of our past, present, and future.

What is my podcast playlist about?

If you love Twilight, we gotchu. We're currently diving into The Hunger Games leading up to the new film. As well as talking about the huge YA Hit of the summer, Cruel Summer Season 2.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Frosted Tips with Lance Bass

Why this podcast?

What Millenial wasn't taken by the Boyband craze of the 90s/early 2000s? Lance is a fun interviewer and getting to listen to the stories of some of my favorite band members, etc is great!

2. Let's Talk About Myths, Baby! Greek & Roman Mythology Retold

Why this podcast?

Greek/Roman Mythology phase...enough said lol But really, I love how Liv tells the stories about these characters and myths I already know and love.

The most entertaining and enraging stories from mythology told casually, contemporarily, and (let's be honest) sarcastically. Greek and Roman gods did some pretty weird (and awful) things. Gods, goddesses, heroes, monsters, and everything in between. Regular episodes every Tuesday, conversations with authors and scholars or readings of ancient epics every Friday.

4. Dr. Death

Why this podcast?

The Dr. Death series is one of the scariest out there. The entire series makes my skin crawl, but it's informative.

We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. But what happens when we can’t trust them? Dr. Death is the award-winning series hosted by Laura Beil, now in its fourth season: Bad Magic.

Need more Dr. Death? With Wondery+, you can listen to all episodes, unlock exclusive content, get early access to upcoming episodes, and enjoy an always ad-free experience. Start your free trial in the Wondery App or visit wondery.com/links/dr-death/ now.

When a charismatic young doctor announces revolutionary treatments for cancer and HIV, patients from around the world turn to him for their last chance. As medical experts praise Serhat Gumrukcu’s genius, the company he co-founded rockets in value to over half a billion dollars. But when a team of researchers makes a startling discovery, they begin to suspect the brilliant doctor is hiding a secret.

Season 3: Paolo is a smart and handsome surgeon, renowned for his ability to perform surgeries that transform his patients’ lives. When television producer Benita covers him for a story, he’ll transform her life too, but not in the ways she expects. As Benita crosses professional lines to be with him, she learns how far Paolo will go to protect his secrets. And halfway around the world, four doctors at a prestigious medical institute make shocking discoveries of their own that call everything into question.

Season 2: If someone you love is diagnosed with cancer you want them to get the best treatment from the best doctors. In 2013, patients in Michigan thought Farid Fata was that doctor. Between his prestigious education, years of experience and pleasant bedside manner, Fata was everything you could want in a doctor. But he was not who he appeared to be. From Wondery, this is the story of hundreds of patients in Michigan, a doctor, and a poisonous secret.

Season 1: We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. We trust the person at the other end of that scalpel. We trust the hospital. We trust the system. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain, and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications, and the system failed to protect them. Which begs the question: who - or what - is that system meant to protect? From Wondery, the network behind the hit podcast Dirty John, Dr. Death is a story about a charming surgeon, 33 patients and a spineless system.
