Who am I?

We are Nick and Will of the Friday Night Gamecast! We're North Carolina based content creators and we have been running our video games-based podcast for just over a year now. Our podcast centers on discussions on the video game industry including news, reviews, game impressions in even - at times - personal opinions! We both approach the games industry with critically analytical lens. But as best friends we have a great time laughing and reminiscing about all the amazing games that we have shared and loved over the years. We're your one stop-shop for all things video game related welcome everyone into our community with open arms. We've both been avid gamers since our childhood through our entire adult life. We also have a very wholistic understanding of most games, franchises, development studios and publishers throughout the industry. We love to theory craft and dig our hands into current events that revolve around the entire industry. We also refuse to niche down! Whether it's Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo or games that release on PC - we both have a fantastic understanding of how these games and publishers work from the point of conceptualization to when the products reach the hands of consumers. We may be indie for now, but with depth of knowledge and passion that we both share for the games industry makes us a necessary podcast for folks who want to take their gaming content seriously.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Tales from the Backlog

Why this podcast?

Dave is a consummate professional. In just a few short years, he has crafted a podcast that deserves all the recognition within the indie gaming space and then some. Dave will pick a game up every week and have a new guest on his show to talk about video game he's pulled from the backlog. He splits his shows into 2 parts, with a spoiler-free section focusing on mechanics and overall impressions of a game, and then a spoiler inclusive part listeners can either stay for or always bounce out of. Either way, each episode offers thoughtful and intellectual discourse on the games they cover.
