The best podcasts for Unusual Crimes & History

Who am I?

We are Gruesome Gaming Group a small podcast network that consists of Leveling Duo, Horrific History & Hauntings as well as Brother Knows Quest. Our hosts are Ramie, Beth and Dakota a group of friends born and raised in rural Virginia who enjoy telling stories with each other. We chose this subject because we've always been fascinated by horror, history, and mystery. We love learning about the hidden stories and secrets and the dark side of history. Sharing what I learn on these subjects to our listeners brings us joy and excitement. Some experiences that made us interested in these subjects could be from watching horror movies and reading horror novels as children. Also learning about the tragic events and sadistic people in history, such as Elizabeth Bathory, natural disasters, and man caused disasters caused us to be interested more.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

Our podcast is about the horrific events in history that one is not likely to be taught in school history books as well as the supernatural. We discuss hauntings, legends, and other creepy, disturbing, and unusual creatures. We dive into some true crime as well.

What is my podcast playlist about?

The podcasts we chose are our favorites because they have taught us so much more on the different topics that we thought we already knew everything about. They have also taught us about many new people and events that we didn’t know about at all. They are about true crime, hauntings, tragic events in history, and the interesting facts about illnesses and strange cures that were used to treat them in the past.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Sawbones: Plague Medicine

Why this podcast?

Sawbones talks about some of the crazy and unusual ways people have tried to cure illnesses. It is a podcast about medicines and other interesting health related topics. Not only are they funny, but they do great research on the topics they discuss.

2. Morbid

Why this podcast?

We picked this show because even though they mainly focus on true crime, they also talk about hauntings and other interesting morbid topics. They manage to do complete research before recording so they can get the facts right. They educate while still being hilarious and entertaining. Being respectful to victims and their families is also important to them.

5. Christopher & Eric

Why this podcast?

We love true crime tv and we love laughing so of course we have to add Christopher & Eric to this list. These two men will watch a TC show before recording and we get to listen to them recount the episode in such detail that we wont need to see the TC show ourselves.
