Who am I?

Jamie Dew started his first podcast, "The Chill" in 2009. It lasted one episode. Since rekindling his enthusiasm for podcasting in 2013 he has developed an extensive portfolio of podcasts that have enjoyed both critical and mainstream success in the charts. His podcasts include “The Dew Over”, an entertaining reexamination of which films should truly have won the Academy Award for Best Picture, “Fully and Completely”, a 25-episode exploration of the Canadian rock supergroup The Tragically Hip’s discography that featured high-profile guests such as Alan Cross, Eric Alper and Paul Langlois, and “Meeting Malkmus — a Pavement podcast,” through which Jamie fostered an audience of fans of the indie rock band Pavement as he sought an interview with singer Stephen Malkmus. Meanwhile, his most ambitious podcast saw him dramatize a leaked Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly script for Star Wars Episode IX, featuring a cast of 40 voice actors, an original score and special effects, all amidst the COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020. Jamie has also produced several essential podcasts exploring mental wellness, including “A Show of Strength, which logged his journey from mental illness and helped raise more than $15,000 for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and the upcoming “The Berman Project” about David Berman, the poet and singer/songwriter, and his experience with mental illness. Currently, Jamie is hard at work on getting well while creating and expressing his creativity in the wonderful and diverse world of podcasting at Dewvre podcasts and such. I have been watching SNL since 1985 and have studied the material causally and through an education that included comedy writing and performance. While I don't claim to be an expert, I do have access to many who are smarter and better at this than me, and to me that makes for a great conversation. Someone curious and someone who can satiate that curiosity. I feel like this selection of podcasts does just that.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. SNL Hall of Fame

Why this podcast?

This is a fantastic podcast for those who enjoy deep-dive or long-form interview segments about specific actors/musicians/writers in the history of Saturday Night Live. The hook is that at the end of every season, we open up the system for listeners to vote for their favourites and actually induct alumni into the Hall for perpetuity.
