The best podcasts for people interested in podcasting

Who am I?

Hi, my name's John Lacey. I'm interested in video, livestreaming and content creation. But I am trying to encourage people to think less in terms of their individual medium or content type and more about the skills they're developing in terms of having a voice, sharing and refining their message, and using technology to amplify that message. I am fascinated by podcasting and listen to an obscene amount of podcasts about podcasting. It will be hard to refine my options down to 5, but here goes.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

In Build A Presentation Muscle, I want to talk about: * finding your voice * refining and sharing your message * using tools and technology to share that message, and * looking after yourself as a creator

What is my podcast playlist about?

Let's talk about my podcast playlist. These are some (admittedly not all) of my favourite podcasts about podcasting.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. School of Podcasting - Plan, Launch, Grow and Monetize Your Podcast

Why this podcast?

Dave Jackson always has such great insights to share as part of The School of Podcasting. Dave has a number of other podcasting podcasts too, which I recommend you check out, but this is a good starting point.

You want to start a podcast, but you’re unsure where to start. You need advice on how to grow or monetize your show, and stop being so scared that it won’t work! I can help by showing you what mistakes NOT TO MAKE and much more. Subscribe to the show and soak in the 18+ years of podcasting experience from Podcaster Hall of Fame Inductee Dave Jackson.

2. Crash Course in Podcasting

Why this podcast?

Josh Liston is super passionate about podcasting. Sometimes his episodes appear to be straight up therapy sessions for himself as he unpacks some of the trends within the industry. I love the DIY ethos of punk rock, and I think it offers an interesting framework for indie podcasters.
