The best podcasts for learning about TV writing

Who am I?

I'm a huge fan of all kinds of television, both as a viewer and a writer. I also write and compose musicals - all kinds of storytelling are beloved to me. As a huge fan of TV and a writer myself, I set out to find the most interesting and helpful resources to learn about how it's made and why certain shows are so engaging. In addition to reading tons of books and scripts, and writing plenty of scripts myself, completing an MFA in Film and Television writing, working in the entertainment industry in various contexts, I love to check out the amazing podcasts out there on TV writing. These are some of my favorites.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

"It's In My Queue" is a podcast dedicated to analyzing and appreciating television. Every episode, Kara and Adina watch the pilot of a different television show and talk through the episode from both a viewer and writer's perspective, sharing their initial thoughts and deciding if they want to keep watching. It's the fun way to learn about writing while working through your watchlist. Join in to clear our your Netflix queue!

What is my podcast playlist about?

These podcasts are ones I love to listen to in learning about screenwriting, what makes good TV, and how to break into the daunting TV/Film industry in Hollywood.
