The best podcasts for History Nerds & Scholars

Who am I?

I am the current host, researcher, and writer of the weekly podcast, Civics & Coffee. A life long learner and self-described history nerd, I decided to pursue graduate work to further enhance my skills and writing. History gets a bad rap. Whether it’s painted as boring, uninteresting, or somehow used as an indoctrination tool, too many don’t give history a chance. I firmly believe history can be fun, engaging, and interesting- you just have to find the right topic and delivery. My hope is that this list will provide others an opportunity to find the history that works for them.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

Civics & Coffee is a short form, narrative driven podcast that focuses on United States history. Most episodes are under twenty minutes as I try to break down history in small, bite size pieces. This is the perfect podcast for the adults who don’t have the time to dedicate to deep dives, or to the people who want a quick refresher. My hope is that after you’ve listened to my episodes, you’ll be thirsty for more.

What is my podcast playlist about?

History. In all it’s shapes and sizes. This list includes narrative driven, interview, and roundtable discussion based podcasts all related in some way to history or historical training.
