The best podcasts for Getting me through the week

Who am I?

I'm a lover of all things horror. I've listened to creepypastas for years, and always thought "Why can't I do that?" or "I should make my own podcast." I finally sat down in July of 2022 and started thinking on what I wanted to do for a podcast. August 1st, I launched my first episode and didn't look back. I love horror and all things paranormal. In my 20s I was a paranormal investigator, and I kind of got to missing that. These days, I have a family and constantly work, so my best bet to get that feeling investigating used to bring was to start a podcast of the same material.

What is my podcast playlist about?

My podcast episodes fall into 3 separate categories: History And Hauntings: Pick a place and discuss the history and hauntings of the place. Dark Words, Dark Things: listed items, mythical beings, etc ie Four Ghost Ships or The Witch of Pungo. Stories From the Road: Creepypastas in a campsite setting.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. The Graveyard Shift w/ Mr. Davis

Why this podcast?

The one that started it all for me wanting to tell scary stories. His voice is perfect for narration and listening to him helped me push me into putting myself out there.

2. terronormal

Why this podcast?

One of my first fans as a fellow creator. Another fantastic narrator. From early on in the life of my podcast he stumbled across my podcast. We've even collaborated on an episode together.

3. TheThinkingAtheist

Why this podcast?

While I'm not an atheist myself, Seth Andrews has been a big influence of mine in the storytelling department...whether he knows it or not. His once a year Halloween Ghost Stories episode was another that pushed me into putting myself out there. He's been at it for a long time and I hope to get to a point where I can say I'm on his level one day.

4. Perplexity: A Mystery Podcast

Why this podcast?

I love listening to Kaydra talk about all the topics she brings to the table. She's slightly newer to content creation than I am, but not by much. She's easy to listen to, and the sky is the limit for her.

5. Spines And Spirits

Why this podcast?

Okay, I'm a little bit biased here. This is a "podcast book club" as they call it that my brothers and sister in law started. They're all about sitting around discussing their favorite books (Hence the Spines part of the name) and sipping on whisky, bourbon, etc (Hence the Spirits part of the name). They're covering the first book in the Kingkiller Chronicle, Name of the Wind right now. Go check them out.
