Who am I?

With over 20 years of experience in the music industry, I've been at the forefront of music evolution, booking talent for a variety of venues and private events. My journey began in the 2000s, where I started as a talent scout for venues. Over the years, I've developed a keen eye for emerging trends and technologies shaping the music world. My passion for innovation in music and other industries has led me to explore the intersection of music and technology, particularly in the realm of NFTs and blockchain technology. I've witnessed firsthand the evolution of music distribution, consumption, and artist-fan interactions. My career began in the early 2000s, a pivotal era for music as it transitioned into the digital age. I started as a bartender and quickly found my passion for music then moving into booking music for various venues and private events. This role put me at the centre of emerging music trends and the business side of the industry, allowing me to observe the shifts in how music was being created, shared, and monetised. I was late / slow on the birth and usage of streaming services, the decline of physical media, and the rise of social media platforms. So once I understood the tech and the collectability I decided I didn't want to be late on anything NFT Music related. My expertise in Music NFTs is a culmination of my extensive experience in the music industry, my hunger to learn about new technological trends, and my active engagement with the community of artists, tech enthusiasts, and industry professionals exploring this space. Hosting "The Music NFT Podcast" has not only been a platform for sharing my knowledge but also a journey of ongoing education and discovery in this exciting space.

5. 27 - Music Industry Creatives take power back through NFTs | NFT Deep dive 3/3

Why this podcast?

Another australian podcast I love thats aiming to get the good word out about blockchain technology. They also run the best crypto DCA app ever.

In this episode of Crypto, your hosts Tracey, Blake and Craig discuss how NFTs interact with and disrupt the music industry. Last year, Kings of Leon was the first band to release and album as an NFT, including front row seats and VIP access to their concerts. For many years now, musicians haven’t been fairly compensated for their music, with less than 0.8% of artists on streaming services like Spotify earning a decent wage. Listen to the rest of the episode for more news regarding music NFTs, including the Disclosure ‘face’ logo sale, a Bored Ape Yacht Club music project, and the rare and unreleased Wu Tang Clan album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin.”
