Who am I?

I'm Gav Host of My Favourite Film and co- Host of the Double Feature Show. I love film...watching, talking about it and even listening to others talk about it. Just love film and taking about films. Lock down, as it was for most was tough and I just needed to talk to people outside of my immediate family, I was also sick of watching the same films and wanted some recommendations of other films. That was the seed thar turned into my first podcast. Now joined by comedian Matt Zitron the Double Feature Show is a whole new world.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

Each week Gav & Matt choose a random word and then somehow create a Double Feature with the only thing linking the films being that word. It's a half hour off nonsense really, but it's a laugh.

What is my podcast playlist about?

Some podcasts I like about film, TV and stuff. I may have picked podcasts I have appear on but that's not an issue. They are all cracking podcasts with lots to sat. Switch them on, sit back and enjoy.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. My Favourite Film Podcast

Why this podcast?

It's my other podcast ... love a bit of self publicity. Every 2 weeks I talk to a new guest and we discuss their favourite film. It can be anything, age, genre, didn't matter, it's just about talking about great films.

5.0

A fortnightly podcast where Gav Smith discussed people's favourite films, clue is in the title. Each episode Gav is joined by a new guest and they discuss their favourite film.

The podcast includes spoliers for pretty much every film we discuss, so if you haven't seen the film, we suggest watching then listening.

Favourite films are an odd one they can change like the weather, but every film featured is someone's favourite and therefore it's a recommendation.

We try to keep the language in the podcast clean but every now and then there may be the odd slip - sorry - I try and mark episodes I know have bad language in them with an "Explicit" tag, but if I miss one, please don't complain, just let me know and I change it.

Thanks

Welcome to Not Just For Kids. Once a week we will revisit the movies we loved as children, looking at their place in the history of family films, the themes they explore and if they’re any good. Each season we will focus on a different area: be it a particular film studio, director or time period. And each week we will invite a guest onto the podcast who will offer their own perspective on the films being covered that week.

3. The Uncut Network - Directors, Actors and Genres

Why this podcast?

Always loved this one, director's uncut used to look at a director at a time, but now the expansion to actors and genres is a massive enhancement. Keep up the good work Rob.

Directors Uncut has evolved to become the Uncut Network. Joined by an array of cool voices from the UK podcasting scene, Rob looks at movies in all shapes and sizes. Each episode focusing on one filmmaker from the many walks of life and corners of the globe, we've also got the same for fan favourite actors and obscure, and weird sub-genres. Seriously, we get super specific. We touch on everything on the Uncut Network. It is is the Movie Podcast with all the niches! ...Mostly. We don't do musicals.

Why this podcast?

What a show, great idea taking about films where pop stars have appeared in some form. Sometimes they are the actors, Sometimes it's their film. Always good cissy from Graham.

5. Projections Podcast

Why this podcast?

Sarah and Mary are 2 of the most intelligent and genuinely funny people I have been lucky enough to chat with. Their site is inciteful, clever and often hilarious with a smattering of smut. Always worth a listen.
