Who am I?
I am a father of 2, career-orientated individual in the construction industry who enjoys many hobbies, including video games. I enjoy agriculture, cars and motorcycles, and music as well. Ever since I was a little boy and my family got a NES system, I have loved video games. I read every magazine about the topic that I could get my hands on, and as I grew older, I spread out across the different platforms and fell in love with the artform from a creative point of view. By the time I was in high school, I desperately wanted to be part of the development industry, but unfortunately, I couldn't identify a clear path to do that, since gaming wasn't considered a proper industry at the time, there wasn't any pipelines for education to employment for such an endeavor. Not giving up hope, I began teaching myself some basic coding, and began making my own projects just for fun. I gained very good employment in the construction industry, with an excellent compensation package, so I decided this would become a hobby instead of a career. Over the years that followed, I matured in my thoughts of "console wars" and other juvenile arguments, and I began following like-minded individuals that covered the industry. I soon felt that I had some unique perspectives and thoughts that pertain to gaming and decided to start my own podcast where I could share them and hopefully begin to interact with those that just want fact-orientated thoughts, opinions and discussion without any "console war" mentality.
My Show
What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?
My podcast is about video games and the industry surrounding them. We talk about the news and events related to the industry and the games, as they happen, in a fun and educational manner, without resorting to insulting and derogatory comments relating to "console wars" or "fanboy" attitudes. Hosted by my partner, Amanda, and myself, we have a unique perspective on the topic as gamers who live together, have children who game, and who don't want to get absorbed into the discourse. Our show provides this unique context, while at the same time being fun and light as well as we discuss some of the challenges we encounter as adults who game, and with children who also game. We also have nostalgic segments where we revisit games from our youth and talk about what they meant to us then, and what they mean to us now.
What is my podcast playlist about?
My podcast playlist is about gaming from an adult perspective. These podcasts have discussions without resorting to fanboy arguments (at least not sarcastically) and are entertaining and informative, while at the same time have fun with the audience.
