Who am I?

Hi there! I'm Anna and I'm the creator and host of The Reading Guild Podcast which is a part of the Librarian Anna Collective, your one stop shop for all things cozy, literary, and liturgical. I have been an avid reader and book lover since I was a child and have made a career out of connecting readers in my community with books that they either love or at least are willing to discuess. I

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

The Reading Guild Podcast is a monthly book club podcast. Grab your cup of cozy and your favorite highlighters and get ready to dive into a new title each month. Books are either selected by me or voted for by my patreon community. As someone who loves books and talking about books, it makes sense that I would highlight some of my favorite bookish podcasts!

What is my podcast playlist about?

This playlist is about my top 5 go tos when it comes to the literary life. They're not in any particular order because I like them all for different things.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. The Library Coven

Why this podcast?

These two introduced me to the concept of reading critically for fun! While they talk about the intersectionality or race, sex, gender, and class (and more!) in most of their episodes, it really opened my eyes to a different way of reading.

2. What Should I Read Next?

Why this podcast?

This is a classic podcast in the book world. As a library professional, I am ALWAYS working on my readers advisory skills and listening to Anne Bogel basically do a reference interview helps me hone my own skills. She also knows a LOT of books that are not my personal jam, which also gives me some new titles to refer people to.

What Should I Read Next? is the show for every reader who has ever finished a book and faced the problem of not knowing what to read next. Each week, Anne Bogel, of the blog Modern Mrs Darcy, interviews a reader about the books they love, the books they hate, and the books they're reading now. Then, she makes recommendations about what to read next. The real purpose of the show is to help YOU find your next read.
