Sofia Paleolog didn’t have the easiest life. Despite growing up as a princess in the byzantine empire she ended up a war orphane and she watched her country be conquered by its enemy. Luckily as an adult she gained the opportunity to marry the Grand prince of the Rus which ended up producing Russia’s most terrible ruler and helped make Russia a world power worthy of the Roman Empire.
