Have you ever wondered "What is a Viking?", "Were Vikings tattooed?" or "Did they ever REALLY use the Blood Eagle? If so, then this is the right podcast for YOU.
In this podcast, follow along Daniel Farrand's (Owner of Horns of Odin) journey as he tries to make sense of the complex history of the Viking Age and Nordic Mythology, through easy to digest, funny, natural (and often very honest) conversations.
Daniel is joined by Co-Host (and in house archaeologist) Margrethe Havgar, as the pair are joined by a host of guests; which include world leading scholars and Viking Age creators, to world renowned musicians and movie stars.
So, if you've ever asked "Were Runes used for magic?" or "is Thor REALLY the only person who can lift his hammer?". We'll definitely have an episode on it
But be prepared to be told, "It's Complicated."

Lizzie Borden Audio is a new episodic series that appeals to lovers of the dark and macabre nature of a historical true crime investigation from the famous 1892 case. Told from multiple witnesses utilizing the primary source transcripts with short musical interludes, it is the first podcast made entirely from trial testimony with humorous bits of music to accent the absurd and sometimes comical nature of the crime. All work is nonfiction and comes from the trial, the published works of Borden scholars, and the newspapers of the time.

The year is 1874, and no children walk the cobbled streets of Murkwood, Texas. For going on two decades, they had been hunted and stolen into the night. Leaving behind nothing more than the sacrificial remains of their parents. The Sacrifice Three. The blood of the Mother, the blood of the Father, and the Child. That is what was needed for them to become something cursed...a Whisper, lost on the wind. And with each loss, the town of Murkwood came closer and closer to the darkness hidden below. The lifeblood slowly draining from the town. Another sacrifice given to the unholy thing that is the Reverent Sun.
The Clan(made up of Foxkeys and Walkers) has long stood between the dark things of the world. They are people with the power to hold back the dark tide itself. They are the final shield standing between the demons of the west and humanity.
Vera Fowley, once Vera Foxkey, was a mother, widow, and homeless. What she most decidedly was not was a witch. Chased by the ghosts of her past from St.Louis into the wild west of Texas, she must face her family's legacy to save her daughter and, more importantly, the world from a whole new existence filled with demons and monsters.
She must face the demons of her past to discover the power within.
These chronicles are not for the faint of heart and contain graphic themes. Listener discretion is advised.

Welcome to 20 Minute History, where every episode brings you the engaging story of an unknown or misunderstood historical concept, broadening your horizons and correcting the record on some popular misconceptions. Our show is carefully researched, taking into consideration as many different sources and perspectives as possible, so you can trust that we’re getting the information right. But we also know that most folks don't have a lot of time on their hands, which is why each of our lessons is over in twenty minutes or less. And most importantly, we recognize that being well-informed takes more than just memorizing the names, dates, and places, which is why we always strive for our narratives to include a deeper analysis. After all, knowing what happened on a particular date means almost nothing without a comprehension of why it matters to begin with. We may be just one small, independently-run podcast...but we genuinely believe that the more we do to widen our collective awareness of the past, the better our chances of repairing our communities and narrowing the divide in this country. If you are someone who shares these concerns, or if you’re simply a history fanatic, we humbly ask you to tune in.

Bear Lake tells the story of a 17-year-old Utah girl in 1989, a young Mormon pioneer woman in 1859 - and the ancient, brooding lake monster who unites them. As each navigates the pitfalls of first love, mortality, and identity, their stories begin to connect in ways both mythic and mundane. How do you deal with tragedy when just getting through a day of high school is a struggle? How do you love fully in a world defined by death? And what do you believe in, when you can’t believe in God?
