In this podcast, follow along Daniel Farrand's (Owner of Horns of Odin) journey as he tries to make sense of the complex history of the Viking Age and Nordic Mythology, through easy to digest, funny, natural (and often very honest) conversations.

So, if you've ever asked "Were Runes used for magic?" or "is Thor REALLY the only person who can lift his hammer?". We'll definitely have an episode on it

But be prepared to be told, "It's Complicated."

Lizzie Borden Audio is a new episodic series that appeals to lovers of the dark and macabre nature of a historical true crime investigation from the famous 1892 case. Told from multiple witnesses utilizing the primary source transcripts with short musical interludes, it is the first podcast made entirely from trial testimony with humorous bits of music to accent the absurd and sometimes comical nature of the crime. All work is nonfiction and comes from the trial, the published works of Borden scholars, and the newspapers of the time.

The Foxkey Chronicles: What Hides Beneath is an indie based audio drama, solely created by sisters Eleana and Cole Hill. It's a supernatural/horror/western.

Summary:

The year is 1874, and no children walk the cobbled streets of Murkwood, Texas. For going on two decades, they had been hunted and stolen into the night. Leaving behind nothing more than the sacrificial remains of their parents. The Sacrifice Three. The blood of the Mother, the blood of the Father, and the Child. That is what was needed for them to become something cursed...a Whisper, lost on the wind. And with each loss, the town of Murkwood came closer and closer to the darkness hidden below. The lifeblood slowly draining from the town. Another sacrifice given to the unholy thing that is the Reverent Sun.

The Clan(made up of Foxkeys and Walkers) has long stood between the dark things of the world. They are people with the power to hold back the dark tide itself. They are the final shield standing between the demons of the west and humanity.

Vera Fowley, once Vera Foxkey, was a mother, widow, and homeless. What she most decidedly was not was a witch. Chased by the ghosts of her past from St.Louis into the wild west of Texas, she must face her family's legacy to save her daughter and, more importantly, the world from a whole new existence filled with demons and monsters.

She must face the demons of her past to discover the power within.

These chronicles are not for the faint of heart and contain graphic themes. Listener discretion is advised.

Welcome to 20 Minute History, where every episode brings you the engaging story of an unknown or misunderstood historical concept, broadening your horizons and correcting the record on some popular misconceptions. Our show is carefully researched, taking into consideration as many different sources and perspectives as possible, so you can trust that we’re getting the information right. But we also know that most folks don't have a lot of time on their hands, which is why each of our lessons is over in twenty minutes or less. And most importantly, we recognize that being well-informed takes more than just memorizing the names, dates, and places, which is why we always strive for our narratives to include a deeper analysis. After all, knowing what happened on a particular date means almost nothing without a comprehension of why it matters to begin with. We may be just one small, independently-run podcast...but we genuinely believe that the more we do to widen our collective awareness of the past, the better our chances of repairing our communities and narrowing the divide in this country. If you are someone who shares these concerns, or if you’re simply a history fanatic, we humbly ask you to tune in.

There are places where the world’s most gruesome crimes have led to years, decades, and sometimes even centuries of supernatural activity, the victims seemingly reaching out from beyond the grave for justice. Those places are in Creepy Places: A True Crime Podcast, and I am your host, Jon Grilz. Our journey will take us across the world from the Carpathian Mountains to the heartland of the United States and through six centuries of true crime. The echoes of these crimes can still be heard in the buildings in which they occurred, the objects used in each kill, and in the pop culture legacy they have left behind. Many of our tales are now the stuff of legend, passed down from generation to generation. Others are so fresh the blood is not yet even dry. New episodes every other week. Set against the backdrop of colonial America, Into the Woods is the story of pioneer and patriot Jonathan Wood. Straining against the bonds of Tidewater society and tempted by an ancient legent, Jonathan's sense of adventure leads him over the mountains of southwest Virginia. Perils abound for this brave pioneer, who must face threats from the native tribes, the British, and even more sinister enemies, while fighting for the woman he loves, and the land that will not let go of his heart. Based on a true story, Into the Woods is a tale of adventure, danger, love, and the triumph of the human spirit. PRAISE FOR INTO THE WOODS: "David Wood has crafted a gem of a story laced with action, villainy, revenge, and reconciliation. Adventure, loyalty- sometimes strained and split- love and sacrifice resonate within the pages of this historical fiction tale." Terry W. Sean Ellis, author of The Shroud of Heaven "David Wood has written an entertaining historical adventure." Megalith Book Reviews PRAISE FOR DAVID WOOD: "Cibola by David Wood is a page-turning yarn blending high action, Biblical speculation, ancient secrets, and nasty creatures. Indiana Jones better watch his back!" Jeremy Robinson, author of Instinct and Beneath "With the thoroughly enjoyable way Mr. Wood has mixed speculative history with our modern day pursuit of truth, he has created a story that thrills and makes one think beyond the boundaries of mere fiction and enter the world of 'why not'?" David Golemon, author of Leviathan and Ancients "Ancient cave paintings? Cities of gold? Secret scrolls? Sign me up! Cibola is a twisty tale of adventure and intrigue that never lets up and never lets go!" Robert Masello, author of Bestiary and Blood and Ice "History is turned on its head in this gripping tale of sects, secrets, and double-crosses. With mesmerizing treasures in beautiful locations, beautiful women and rugged heroes, mysticism and mystery, Wood spins a yarn that keeps the pages turning." History told by The Cavalcade of America is a well-done, factual show, and is a wonderful resource for all those who are interested in historical highlights and lesser-known episodes. Famed historians and writers worked on the show, and the actors were many of the best from the stage, screen and radio. equivalent to the current A&E Biography channel, and History channel's offerings. It can be a wonderful show to listen to with grade schoolers, or the entire family gathered 'round, like in radio's golden days.
