Who am I?
I run the Franchise Festival podcast, a monthly show that covers the evolution of an entire video game series each season. As a person with a professional background in the history field and a longtime passion for the art of video games, I enjoy finding out more about the medium's past and how it's currently evolving.
My Show
What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?
My co-hosts and I discuss the development, gameplay, and story of each game we cover in an effort to understand where it fits within the context of its own property as well as the medium more generally.
What is my podcast playlist about?
One of the most exciting parts about modern video game discussions is how democratized and diverse the voices are. It's nice to find so many perspectives that offer you new ideas and context on your favorite form of artistic expression.
1. Watch Out for Fireballs!
Why this podcast?
Hosts Gary and Kole consistently give an in-depth look at whichever game they're covering each week on this "book club"-style show, outlining what works and what doesn't while providing enough context to convey how the game plays even if you've never heard of it. Especially nice for games you've always wanted to know more about but don't have the time to play yourself!

Watch Out for Fireballs! is a game club podcast, focused on retro and non-current games. Every week, we play a game in its entirety, then discuss its merits and flaws at length. Most episodes begin with a short sketch, and we're pretty liberal about keeping tangents in. But it ultimately comes down to: Why do we like (or dislike?) this game.
