Who am I?

My name is Amy Lewis and I am a photographer, a podcaster, a parent and an avid explorer of my adopted home state of Maine. I love learning about new places so I can plan my next adventure with my family! I love to travel and explore new places so I love hearing about other peoples experiences as I want to add places to visit to my bucket list 😊 Since I am a photographer who dabbles in video, I have become more and more interested in seeing new places that I can capture in photos and in motion!

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

I host a podcast called the Pop Culture Retrospective Podcast which was inspired by the loss of my sister in 2019. Some of my favorite memories of my sister are the adventures and traveling we did as kids whether that was a cave in Indiana or Walt Disney World.

What is my podcast playlist about?

I love learning about new and obscure places and these shows cover it all! I am always thinking about places I want to travel and being able to learn about locations in advance I find to be extremely helpful. I also like learning about places I have traveled to several times so I can keep up to date with what is going on there.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. The Atlas Obscura Podcast

Why this podcast?

This show is short, sweet and to the point and I love that. I’ve learned about so many random places that I wouldn’t have known about had it not been for this show (ie Museum of Clean, Tina Turner museum, etc).

5. WEDway Radio - Walt Disney World and Disneyland Examined with some Disney History

Why this podcast?

This is probably one of my all time favorite podcasts. Episodes are not released a lot lately but the hosts are so fun together because they are brothers who love to reminisce about growing up going to Disney World! I am always holding out hope that the show will come back regularly as I listened to it religiously when it was on in regular rotation.

Join Matt and Nate each week as we discuss Disney History, Disney Theme Parks Details and Theme Park Touring. Segments examine attractions, shows of the past and present of Disney theme parks and more.
