The best podcasts for Scratching that dark fantasy itch

Who am I?

I am an actor and writer who has been striving to understand how to operate within the world as a creative. It can be so hard sometimes. It can sometimes feel that 'judement' is ingrained into the choice. But lately I've discovered so much more joy by doing things creatively for my own enjoyment, to my own taste, and for my own creative expression. I feel that is the best way to approach a life in creativity. There are enough people out there, that you'll find those who share your taste, and they are your audience. I have found a lot of peace in dark fantasy stories over these last few years. There's something about dark fantasy that transports me. It's similar to my relationship with horror - it's the 'human' element, that is always so relatable, even if the context is wildly different to our own reality. Dark fantasy and horror rely on the human experience to make it impactful; so I often find myself more connected to the story than in epic or high fantasy.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast is a dark fantasy adventure based on the 90's cult classic video game - Planescape: Torment. It balances pulpy, fast-paced action with a slow-burning journey that explores 'identity' from many aspects and perspectives.

What is my podcast playlist about?

This list is about escaping into other worlds. Harsh, sometimes terrying, but you'll find comfort in the characters.

5. Midst

Why this podcast?

Such a unique way storytelling. I don't mind saying it took me a little time to get used to it, but the payoff is so good. The shared responsibility of the 'unreliable narrators' themselves becomes a method of storytelling in its own right. Brilliant stuff
