My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast is finding new and creative ways to proclaim the love of God for the unlovable. I use solid biblical exegesis, layered with the latest of neuroscience and attachment theory.

What is my podcast playlist about?

These five podcasts have been the ones that got the most feedback from listeners. I encourage listeners to talk to me, puch back, agree or disagree. I love it. We need more dialogue. These would be the top five.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. God’s Love for the Unlovable: Your Brain In Love

Why this podcast?

Have you ever wondered what happens in your brain when you really feel the love of God for you? It is how God made you. God wonderfully made your brain so that it can love others and be loved, even in trying circumstances.

Welcome to our new series, God’s Love for the Unlovable. It’s the stark wonderful and frightening truth, God’s love is for the unlovable, the unlovely, and the unloved.

That’s all of us on any given day if we were just a little bit honest.

How has the creator God wonderfully made my brain so that it can love others and be loved, even in trying circumstances? We will get into the fun neuroscience of “falling in love.” It is very interesting and geared toward laypersons. The point? When I experience the “height, width, length and depth of the love of Christ" (Eph 3), the Holy Spirit—no doubt—ignites the very same parts of our brain. We feel like we are "falling in love with Jesus” and that he is “falling in love with us.” Of course we know that he has never stopped loving us—but it sure feels like it. I was preaching on this very topic on Valentine’s Sunday at a church. During the break between services, five men, total strangers, sought me out to tell me that they believe that they were experiencing the love of Christ that day—maybe for the first time in a long while. I think that some were converted. It is a fresh look at how we fall in love with Christ again. Enjoy!

3. The Eyes Of Jesus (SOS24)

Why this podcast?

I just finished going through the Old Testament book of the Song of Songs. Life changing. It is the greatest gospel presentation in the Old Testament. There is something in the direct unaverted gaze of Jesus that initially causes us to look away, to close our eyes. There is shame, there is fear of seeing disappointment, or his notice of some ugly that we haven’t been able to wash away. But the secret working of the Holy Spirit is to make us look direct into his eyes. It is life changing. Come and see what happened to the Queen of the Song of Songs when she does. Something has changed the Queen Beloved. Want to know what?

5. Ancient History of Love (Valentines Pt 2)

Why this podcast?

Second of three part, special and important Gospel Rant Valentine’s Day Series. This is for all of those lovers out there who want more, who aren’t feeling loved or lovable, or who have been hurt and feel like disappointments on this annual day for romance. Tina Turner asked a very good question, "What's love got to do with it?" We Christians have a pretty good answer, but we seem confused ourselves. Truth be told, there is really good news out there for you—no matter who you are, what you’ve done, or what’s been done to you. There is a way to begin to experience the real love your mid-brain has been jonesing for. This. Is a game-changer.

Podcast #1 was all about the brain in love. Fascinating stuff. This Podcast #2 is a short overview of the ancient history of how people looked at love. Did you know that the ancient Romans were afraid of it. We have inherited much from them unfortunately. Podcast #3 is about God’s love. God’s love is agape. Right? Eros is, well, you know. But what if we have that all messed up. Don’t miss it. This. Is a game-changer.
