The best podcasts for Making you laugh out loud at work!

Who am I?

I am an over thinking who enjoys eating snacks and reading cookbooks on gourmet meals I don't cook because I'm already filled up on snacks. Some days it's a struggle to get through the workday as you wait to win the lottery. These podcasts make those days better and shorter.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

This show covers everything from bizarre moments in history like orchestrated train crashes to promote train travel to questionable looking cryptids in capes. Possibly the only podcast to make me laugh whilst telling me about workers licking radioactive rocks in the fifties to failed safety measures in nuclear power plants. Completely leaves out the icky, typical serial killers and focuses on the really incompetent wannabes. UFO stories that focus a lot on scalloped potatoes recipes and did I already mention the frog in the cape?

What is my podcast playlist about?

This playlist is about having laugh out loud fun at work that will hopefully help you to get through the day. Everything from true crime to history to self-published erotica so bad it takes its self-off the shelf.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Gabbin In The Woods

2. The Dollop with Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds

Why this podcast?

You have to love when you can laugh and learn at the same time. These guys cover some really fascinating and just truly bizarre events in history. You want stories about failed hippo farmers and self-taught dentists? Then this is the place for you. My favorite episode is on the real person the Revenant is based on; the story is so much bigger than the movie.

3. My Dad Wrote A Porno

Why this podcast?

The unsexist sexy stories of all time. It sounds like a bizarre premise. But imaging discovering that your dad had self-published erotic novels and is apparently the worst and least sexual person in history? Why you drink wine and read it aloud to your best friends. Openly laugh as this son is forever traumatized by how clueless his dad is about the female body and how it works.

Imagine if your Dad wrote a dirty book. Most people would try to ignore it and pretend it had never happened - but not Jamie Morton. Instead, he's decided to read it to the world in this award-winning comedy podcast. With the help of his friends, James Cooper and Alice Levine, Jamie will be reading a chapter each episode and discovering more about his father than he ever bargained for.

4. We're Here to Help

Why this podcast?

Their best advice is possibly some of the worst advice to follow ever. But some of people's problems are just so bizarre it's hilarious. Having problems with your puppets? The guys are here to help. Having a problem with Santa? You need these guys!

Jake Johnson (New Girl, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) and Gareth Reynolds (The Dollop) don't feel qualified to give strangers good advice. Most of their friendship over the last 15 years has been based around dumb bits, but they do (for better or worse) want to try to help people out. Like your friendly local bartender or your tipsy uncle at a family gathering, Jake and Gareth are on the caller's side and trying to help. Each episode, the guys make several pitches to callers (whose questions range from trivial to serious) with their best attempts of advice. They can't promise their suggestions will be perfect, but it will be the best they've got. Jake and Gareth also occasionally bring on a friend, peer or even an expert to help along the way.
