The best podcasts for Laughing Uncontrollably

Who am I?

DJ Sir Daniel here. DJ/Selector and vinyl enthusiast. I have a particular love for women musicians, especially in Hip-Hop and R&B. At this stage of my life, I'm very intentional about being happy and seeking joy. This world is chock-full of unhappy, spiteful people so I make it my business to seek out the masters of levity.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

The Queue Points Podcast is an amazing ongoing conversation between my co-host & friend Jay Ray and I about Black Music History. As members of Generation X, we were seeing too many recipes being lost. We are devoted to giving flowers to the unsung and drawing lines between the cultural movements of the past and today.

What is my podcast playlist about?

This podcast playlist features my go-to podcasts for laughter and examining this life and the foolishness surrounding it

The podcasts I picked and why

1. I've Had It

Why this podcast?

These are my two favorite Karen's with a conscience. Anyone pointing out the ridiculousness of human beings and their penchant for main character syndrome are heroes in my book.

2. Don't Call Me White Girl

Why this podcast?

Demona is a nut in the best possible way. Her deadpan delivery keeps me in shambles. I'm so happy a woman like Demona can share her perspective. Her musings on being a convicted felon, sex and love for documentaries made her a friend in my head immediately.

3. Jokes On You Podcast

Why this podcast?

Mel & Talley are shameless truth-tellers and it helps that they're both comedians. I became familiar with Mel through her hilarious Tik-Tok series, "Hoes Ain't Human" which is a delicious spoof on the rancid uprise of male-lead podcasts based in nothing but lies, testosterone and homophobia.

4. Small Doses with Amanda Seales

Why this podcast?

Amanda Seales is smart, funny & Black. Duh! I feel a kinship with Amanda, being that we're both only-children raised by a West Indian parent. Our perspectives are unique and don't get heard often.

5. Sibling Rivalry

Why this podcast?

They're my problematic faves. Bob & Monet are ridiculous enough to keep you cackling, but also make you think.

Monét X Change, Miss Congeniality of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 and winner of AS4 and Bob The Drag Queen, winner of Season 8 (she won the first time) are not actually siblings but they are the intensely hilarious comedy duo with infectious chemistry behind the hit podcast Sibling Rivalry.
