The best podcasts for kids who love bedtime stories

Who am I?

Just a kid who discovered podcasting during the pandemic. I love to read, play tennis, and do normal things that kids do, like play video games...shhh don't tell my mom.😄 This subject of "best podcasts for kids who love bedtime stories" is actually very personal to me. It all started during the pandemic when my mom and I were stuck at home with not much to do over the summer of 2020. We wanted to make the most of our time together, so my mom, who reads bedtime stories to me in Spanish and English, is the cohost of a podcast we started to share those stories with other kids. I knew there were podcasts for grown-ups but at that time there weren't that many for kids. We quickly grew our audience and have been on the top list of Spotify podcasts for kids two years in a row.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast is a labor of love I started with my mom during the pandemic. As we were stuck at home during the summer of 2020, I came up with the idea of creating a podcast to share the bedtime stories she reads to me in Spanish with other kids. Her soothing voice helps me fall asleep quickly, and I thought it could benefit other kids too! 😴 We choose some of my favorite bedtime stories to share, and at the end of each episode, we provide new words to expand your Spanish vocabulary. Our listeners aren't just kids, though; we were thrilled to see adults learning Spanish tuning in as well. They've shared in their reviews and comments that they find the stories helpful in training their ears and acquiring new vocabulary. Woot Woot!

What is my podcast playlist about?

During the pandemic, these are the podcasts that I stumbled upon first and that I still love listening to! They're like my special playlist. Each one has its own style, and they're all so much fun and entertaining. They make me laugh but also learn new things, and just have a great time. I absolutely love how amazingly these stories are narrated; the narrators have this magical way of bringing the stories to life, and it's simply captivating.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Greeking Out from National Geographic Kids

Why this podcast?

Who would have thought Greek mythology could be this entertaining and fun for kids to learn about? I certainly didn't until I stumbled upon Greeking Out, my all-time favorite podcast! It's educational but you have fun learning about a subject that could be tough for kids to read a book about or sit through a classroom lesson.
