The best podcasts for Family Friendly TTRPG Actual Plays

Who am I?

I am a member of Guaranteed Adventures, and we like playing all sorts of Table Top Role Playing Games! I'm from the midwest, have a family of my own, and want to help shape the world that my kids will be proud to be a part of when they get older. I love all kinds of TTRPG Actual Plays, but since I am in the family-friendly scene, I thought it was best to share what has been impactful for us! I have been playing ttrpg for about a decade, and love the way that you can tell stories through them. Doing it as an actual play has opened the door to tell meaningful stories, and add the random factor through rolling dice.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

Our podcast is a "short story" format, where we play different TTRPG systems telling stories. We try to stick to hour-long episodes; each season will be around 10 episodes or less. We keep our stories clean so you won't hear coarse language, innuendos, or "mature" themes. However, since many stories like this include battles and fighting, there will be death sometimes, but our details won't be gruesome. We love interacting with our listeners, so if you want to ask us a question or tell us what you think, please let us know! Our first Season was a fantasy-western using the Tiny Dungeon system. Our second season uses DnD 5e and is set in the world of "Humblewood" by Hit Point Press. Our third season is coming out soon, uses the Savage Worlds system, and will be called "The Tower of Lost Magic".

What is my podcast playlist about?

Family Friendly Table Top Roleplaying Games (TTRPG). There are a lot of options out there, and many different systems and genre's for people to listen to! Here are a few that have inspired us!

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Stack o’ Dice

Why this podcast?

There is a real value to being relatable in podcasts, and Rhett and the team do a great job of that. If you wanted a long-form ttrpg story that includes family, homebrew worlds, and easy listening, I would 100% recommend!
