Over the past 6 years, I've learned in my health coaching practice that for so many women, there's great confusion around what triggers hormone imbalances. So today, we're talking about the gut/hormone connection because when your gut gets wonky so do your hormones. Your hormones will never be balanced if you have underlying digestive and gut issues. Gut health as it relates to hormone balance is my biggest passion, from personal experience as well as for my clients. Many challenges we put in the “hormone imbalance” category are driven by gut imbalances- and to heal your gut means healing those symptoms.

· Constipation or Diarrhea
· Autoimmune conditions
· Chronic Fatigue
· Brain Fog
· Insulin Resistance

Wednesday, December 19th my life came to a screeching halt.
Life stopped in its tracks. My body had not been paying attention to everything my mind had been busy working on! I had things to do - places to be - people to meet - end of year goals to crush - and it was the holidays! My FAVORITE time of year!
Or perhaps...it was the other way around. Perhaps my mind hadn't been listening to my body - or it was doing that selective hearing that I accuse Ryan of all the time where he only seems to hear what he wants to hear. Either way - my body very clearly had other plans for me.

So often, when I’m working with health coaching clients I hear...
“Missy-I think about food all of the time! I think about all of the foods I love that are bad for me...I think about how much I’m eating....calories, calories, calories.....I obsess over cookies and coffee drinks! Ugh! I try not to think about it....but it creeps back in and usually ends up with me feeling crummy and disappointed with my choices and how my mind and body feel. Why can't I just stop thinking about food?”

Strength. It's a word that conjures up all kinds of images, thoughts and feelings. There's physical strength, emotional strength - there are so many ways our body's show us that we are strong. Resilience. Determination, Power. The list could go on and on with all of the ways we demonstrate Strength in our life.

Healthy is a mindset

Mindset Goal: Stay in a place that supports being comfortable in the skin and the body I am in.
This is what I’m working on these days. Some days I nail it, other days- epic fail! That’s the truth. In this podcast I get raw and real about my struggle to keep moving towards a life of balance, peace and “healthy”.
I am working hard to get to a place of being so proud and absolutely okay with exactly where I am at. Creating and living by a mindset of “Healthy” that works for me...feeds my soul....fuels my body and helps me show up as my best self - that is powerful - and it is entirely on me!
Embracing my scars, my imperfections and everything about me that makes me....me.
Life doesn't stand still and just because something worked in the past doesn’t mean it’s meant to work going forward. Change can be hard because it’s unknown, but new adventures can be incredibly exciting!
