Today's podcast episode should encourage you to appreciate aging! Isaiah 46:4 says: "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."

That verse is the inspiration for the seventh verse of the hymn "How Firm a Foundation" Do you know it? It starts: "E'en down to old age, my people shall prove / My sov'reign, eternal, unchangeable love". Let's dive into this idea and the Scripture that inspired it today.

Don't you love this verse of "How Firm a Foundation"? "When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie / My grace all sufficient shall be thy supply / The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design / Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine"

This verse comes from four different Bible passages, which we'll explore in their contexts in today's Podcast episode.

"When through the deep waters I call thee to go. The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow..." Do you know that verse from "How Firm a Foundation"? It comes from Isaiah 43, a precious promise which unfolds in five certainties, which we'll look at together in this episode.
