#12 - Top 20 80s Horror Movies
The Jesse Ray Podcast
12/31/20 • 86 min
This episode starts with an update of all the new Disney Marvel/Star Wars TV shows and films that were recently announced for the next few years, followed by an in-depth dive into the 20 greatest horror movies of the 1980s and it's a pretty great list! Correction: Phantasm IV actually came out in 1998, what can I say, it feels like an 80's movie because it's part of the series. I also said that the make-up artist on The Thing was Greg Cannom when it was actually Rob Bottin which I totally knew, my brain just farted on me!

#10 - John Harrison Pt. 2
The Jesse Ray Podcast
12/17/20 • 59 min
Here is the second, more current interview with film composer and writer/director John Harrison. We catch up on everything he's been up to over the last 4 years since our first interview, mostly we focus on the Creepshow TV show streaming on Shudder, as well as the Thanksgiving special and the upcoming Holiday special streaming this Friday, the 16th of December. It's a great casual back & forth, and we also cover lots of random topics regarding our general experiences with movies, music, and the film industry.

#9 - John Harrison Pt. 1
The Jesse Ray Podcast
11/21/20 • 64 min
This is the first part in an interview series that I did with writer/director/composer John Harrison. John started out as a friend and assistant director to George A. Romero (Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow, etc.) and went on to compose the score for both Creepshow and Day of the Dead. After that he became a writer and director on various shows such as Tales From The Darkside and Tales From The Crypt, and then also wrote and directed the adaptations of Dune and Children of Dune on SyFy. The first part in the interview series is actually from four years ago when I had hoped to start my podcast but didn't end up making it happen quite yet (the audio is not quite as good as my newer episodes, but certainly listenable). In this portion of the interview we discuss mostly his experiences on Creepshow, but also other aspects of his career including the Dune adaptations. Thanks again to John for being so friendly and willing to do an interview with a guy who hadn't even put one podcast episode out at that point!
