play

When you start a business, especially when you’re being paid to give advice or guidance, it can be hard to see yourself as an expert. This can cause you to doubt your abilities, and not show up in your business. This leads to you not promoting your business and then not making any sales. Phew, there’s a lot to unpack.

So in this episode, I’m sharing:

  • 3 things you can to do to establish yourself as an expert, even if you’re just getting started
  • 4 things that you’ll be able to do once you’ve established yourself as an expert

This episode is one of a series of previously recorded live videos that I presented on social media.
This is Mistake No.9 in my book, Discover 22 Of The Biggest Mistakes Most Business Owners Make: and learn what you can do to avoid them.
Most new business owners when they start their business focus on activities such as developing their social media presence, getting their logo designed and building their website. This isn't wrong it's just they aren't ready to take these actions because there is a fundamental element of their business development that they're missing. Without this missing element, you cannot set your business up for success.
If you don't focus on this element at the outset of your entrepreneurial journey, you'll find that you will have to go back to the beginning to build this element. So if you have to do it anyway, why not do it at the outset?
I also share the consequences to you of not having this fundamental element in place and what you can do to start building this element,

The Female Startup podcast - 5 Daily Habits Every New Business Owner Should Adopt
play

06/11/21 • 24 min

This episode is inspired by the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. I’m not an affiliate I’m just a fan. As I was reading the book I started thinking about the top habits that new business owners should adopt and I came up with 5. Are these the only habits? No, there are many more but this is a great place to start and if all you do is these things, you'll be on the path to building a successful business.

This isn’t going to be an episode where I tell you the tasks or the activities to do each day, although I will be making an episode about that. This is an episode about the daily habits that a new online-based business owner, who has been in business for less than 2 years or has been inactive in their business and is now ready to be more active, should carry out each day.
Habits are the daily things that you do each day, like unplugging the TV before you go to bed, putting on your slippers, or putting fresh water in the kettle each morning.

The right habits will help you to achieve your goals because those habits, when done right, will help you to attract clients, make money and create more freedom which will directly lead to achieving your goals.

In this episode I share:

  • The difference between a habit and an activity
  • How to start your day off to set yourself up for the rest of the day
  • What you need to let go of to move forward in your business
  • How to determine what your focus should be each day
  • The one thing that you should do each and every day and why this is important
