Hey everyone!
Got a question for you: Have you ever had to compete against someone who you felt was inferior in every aspect only to find out that your opponent not only is smarter, faster, and more capably than you in every aspect of the competition? At what point do you realize that you're in over your head, and at what point have you realized that this competition is not going to end well?
If you've ever found yourself in this predicament, then you can relate to George Armstrong Custer. Custer was the Union's golden child of the Civil War and his charisma and zeal often "won the day" in intense battles; many of which Custer charged head first in front of his men and proved his valor time and time again.
And yet with Custer's leadership background, superior technology, and advanced training... he lost quickly to a force that was inferior to the technology... but was WAAAAY more advanced in leadership and tactics of the Lakota.
In this first of three parts of the fabled story of Custer's Last Stand, Ed and Kara take a look at Custer himself and try to understand him as a human being. Yes he was delusional at times; yes he was a bit "too over zealous" in battle, but he was also a confident man who DEEPLY loved his wife, and a man who just wanted to get the job done.
Join us as we look into the first part of George Armstrong Custer and what led up to his down fall in some place called "Greasy Grass"...

Hey everyone! After a brief hiatus, Ed and Kara are back with a new episode for the benefit of your ear meat...
In this episode we go back to the 80's computer technology, radiation therapy machines, and Demigorgons were all the rage. While Hawkins Indiana was being destroyed by an interdimensional being with serious "daddy issues," The Atomic Energy Canada Limited released the all knew and highly sophisticated radiation therapy machine called Therac 25 to treat cancer. This machine was the first of its kind where it was now operated by a computer because humanity developed a fear of turning nobs and stuff. Marketed at the safest radiation machine ever, it came as a shocker when people were suddenly being zapped with 15,000 to 20,000 rads of radiation... which seems a tad overkill to be honest.
Also for the first time Ed and Kara has a guest onboard. A legit radiation dosimetrist, which is a fancy name for someone who shoots people with radiation to reduce or kill cancer. In this episode Cameron Beatty will help everyone understand what happened with this machine, why it was malfunctioning, and why 15,000 to 20,000 rads of radiation is too high (most treatments involves 7 to 10 rads, you can't even cook a cup of instant noodles with that), and how this sort of issue doesn't happen today.

Hey there!
Have you ever wondered what was the meaning of life? Why ducks float and yet small rocks don't and other mysteries??? Well neither did your hosts. In Part 1 of Custer's Last stand Ed and Kara look at who George Armstrong Custer was and how he rose through the ranks to ultimately get absolutely wrecked in the the plains of Southern Montana. In this episode Ed looks at some of of the complexities of the Native American tribes including one assuming / very "Slow" Lakota man who rose to great heights and ultimately had a vision that would change the history of America's expansion out west shortly after the American Civil War. To understand just how Custer fell so fast, it is necessary to understand the people who brought him down in just a couple of hours in what would be one of the greatest Dumpster Fires of the Federal Army's history.
