Episode 57 - A little bit of growth
The Bloom-Print Podcast
12/05/24 • 13 min
Hey, lovely! In this episode, I’m sharing all about my whirlwind trip to Broome, where I spent two incredible days with Jemma and Tash from The Broome Florist at the end of November. These two are gearing up for their first wedding season, and I had the absolute joy of helping them build their skills, plan their logistics, and create stunning marketing content with a gorgeous photoshoot on the beach (yes, it was as magical as it sounds!).
We covered everything from bouquet-making (Tash went from dreading bouquets to absolutely loving them!) to navigating the unique challenges of running a floral business in a regional area. Having grown up in the Northern Territory and North West WA, this trip brought back so many memories and gave me a fresh perspective on just how far I’ve come in my business landing at a completely auspicious time.
This episode is a celebration of growth, mindset shifts, and what’s possible when you step outside your comfort zone. Whether you’re one year or five years into your business journey, I want you to know how much can change when you open yourself up to new opportunities.
If you’re ready to make 2025 your year, I’d absolutely love to support you. Check out my Bloom-Print Membership for group coaching, self-paced lessons, and monthly mastermind sessions. Or, if you’re craving personalized guidance, let’s work together 1:1! Just a heads-up—pricing for both goes up on 1 January, so now’s the perfect time to jump in and make your goals a priority.

Episode 25 - Working Around Holidays
The Bloom-Print Podcast
03/06/24 • 19 min
In this episode, I share insights from my recent travels, where I balanced the demands of work with the rejuvenation of vacations. Reflecting on a business retreat in Bali and a family holiday in Hobart during February, I discovered the power of stepping away from routine to spark creativity and inspiration.
The art of balancing professional responsibilities with the joys of holidays hinges on setting intentional boundaries. Whether choosing to disconnect completely or integrating work with vacation time smartly, the goal is to engage fully with both personal development and creating memorable moments with loved ones. This strategy enriches both our work and personal lives, enhancing happiness and fulfillment across the board.
From my own experiences, I've gathered tips on managing work during breaks without sacrificing the restorative essence of vacation. Embracing work with passion, even during holidays, can contribute to a balanced life, provided we make clear and thoughtful decisions to merge work and leisure seamlessly.
Remember, taking breaks and vacations is crucial not only for a satisfying work life but also for a fulfilling personal life. Smart planning and clear communication can transform our time off into a rejuvenating and even healing experience. It's in these moments of pause that we often find our brightest ideas and inner strength. So, cherish these times of relaxation—they're not just breaks but investments in your well-being.
For those looking to channel these insights into their floral business, the Wedding Bloom-Print course offers a perfect opportunity. This self-paced online course is designed to elevate your floristry business by integrating themes of balance and rejuvenation. Episode 20 - Planning Your Ideal Week
The Bloom-Print Podcast
01/24/24 • 21 min
Do you have an Ideal Week plan?
Planning out my ideal week has been a game changer for me. If you are wanting to create space in your calendar, if you are craving a better flow between work and down time or work and family time, get a pen and paper because I promise, planning it out is actually going to make a massive difference not only in getting through all of your tasks but how you feel at the end of each week.
And if you’re thinking ‘How do I plan an ideal week when every week is different, when jobs are on different days and when work is seasonal so it might not happen year round?’ Look, I hear you. But that’s exactly why this is called ‘Ideal week’ planning. In an ideal world – how do you actually want your weeks to go? In an ideal world, what do you want to factor in each week? What if you did have a plan? And what if you did try it out for a month using that routine? If you have something to start from, you can start to work in a way that feels a bit more organised instead of chasing your tail. AND you’ll also find that you actually do have the time to exercise or read, or cook a Sunday dinner, or go to that stand up paddle boarding class, or learn pottery or whatever the thing is for you that continues to be pushed aside each week because you haven’t ‘made time for it’.
In this episode – El shares her ideal week plan and what adjustments she’s had to make to her general way of doing things to ensure it goes to plan. Make your own ideal week plan using El’s template. Download a copy and create one for yourself.

Episode 50 - If Not Now... WHEN?
The Bloom-Print Podcast
09/25/24 • 25 min
Last week one of my clients asked me 'El, do you really think I can do this, like should I really be doing this?' and it's not the first time I've been asked that question or had a conversation about whether you're too old or it's too late to be getting into something new - and it wasn't even the first time that week I'd had that conversation. This sort of thing comes up alot with my mentoring clients, and in my Instagram DMs and with my floral students.
So in this episode I'm shifting your thinking about being too old, or it being too late or being ill equipped because IF NOT NOW... THEN WHEN?
Life is a pretty long journey and if you wanted to you could pick a different career every decade and still have 5 or 6 pretty amazing careers in your life. And spoiler alert - you are not too old and it is NOT too late!
So if you're needing a little pick me up, a little spark into action, a bit of self-belief - allow this to be it - tune in, because this is the podcast for you!

Episode 45 - Do You Need a Business Coach?
The Bloom-Print Podcast
08/14/24 • 17 min
Hello my loves - today, we're talking about coaching. I recently saw a post in a wedding and event suppliers Facebook group that said and I quote: “who has a business coach and do you find it’s worth it? How much do you pay? Are you seeing amazing (not just good) results?”
Now I found some of the comments really interesting on this post and I also gave my input and I thought it would be worth sharing some of that insight with you as well. Because I get it - investing in anything is a risk - and sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn’t - but the key is being sure you’re always investing in your own growth as a small business owner.
I’ve also had a few questions lately since we launched the Bloom-Print membership - mostly of people wanting to know whether that’s the right fit for them or whether 1:1 mentoring would suit better. And my first piece of advice is to work out what your goals are - what you’re wanting to work towards and what level of support you need to get there. Honestly one of the best things you can do at this stage is a SWOT analysis - Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.
So in this episode I’m going to do is break down this question for you in a few parts with a bit more detail because I know you deserve it.

Episode 44 - Nothing Comes for Free
The Bloom-Print Podcast
08/08/24 • 12 min
Hello my loves welcome back to The Bloom-Print Podcast.
I have had a lot of conversations lately about 'freebies' – about when to do them, what should be considered a freebie and how valuable or not doing freebies can be.
So in this episode I want to share a couple of these instances with you and my views on this based on the experiences I’ve had and where I’ve got it right and wrong.
We're talking collaborations, photoshoots and offering discounted rates or free product/service.
Now, I am actually a big fan of collaborations. I’ve done a lot of them over the years between expos and styled shoots where I’ve collaborated with a group of vendors to bring a complete product or vision to life that benefits all the vendors in displaying work they want to do more of. The key is making sure you’re aligned with the vendors, that you are a part of the planning and that you’re showing work that fits your style that you want to get more of. If you’re just showing the same work you do all the time – chances are you already have imagery or content of that – styled shoots and expos are your opportunity to display and gain more of the kind of work you want to do in the future. But you don’t have to say yes, just because someone asks you. Find out who the vendor team is, get a moodboard or inspo images of the style, work out what the cost of your contribution actually is.
Freebies - can be a bit of a different story.
