Eric Joyner joined The Art for a fun and interesting interview at San Diego Comic Con SDCC50. Cool, quiet, talented and generous, Eric shares his journey as an artist who, after several years of working on the visions of others, found his own favorite passion painting bold, friendly and colorful robots inspired in part by Japanese tin toys. Then the donuts came along and he made his mark.
Eric Joyner paintings can be found on the cover of The Ben Folds Five record album and on the walls of the character Sheldon’s apartment on the set of Big Bang Theory. Recently he was chosen to paint Hello Kitty for the Sanrio Anniversary celebration and is currently working on a project in China.

That rockin’ music you hear in the introduction of each episode of The Art - That is Mickey Caputo, a singer, songwriter and largely self-taught musician.
We met up at ATC Studios to talk about his latest song titled Storm - A strong metal tune with a message you’ll hear in this episode.
During part one of the interview we had a blast listening to his album titled We Live Forever. Along the way we talked about Mickey’s work as a hospice volunteer.
Part two is focused on Mickey’s art and approach to acting, coaching and how reaching out to help others inspired the song Storm.

A couple of years ago, Mark was out for a swim after a run on the beach and nearly drowned. The slow and sometimes uncertain recovery that has followed could’ve taken him out of the game altogether but instead, he’s finishing a book, and a television pilot while continuing to work as a freelance copywriter.

Brian plays with Oingo Boingo Former Members; The Brian Swartz Quartet; recording artist John Beasley’s MONK’estra that plays tribute to big band sound and the music of Thelonious Monk; and, with Saxophone player Azar Lawrence who honors the music of John Coltrane.
Playing since childhood, Brian has enjoyed a career filled with music and fun. He arranged horn sections on the Dixie Chicks album Taking The Long Way that won album of the year 2006. His music spans dance, jazz, big band and hip hop sounds.
We have a great conversation about the art of making music and the balance between practice, discipline and art. Brian describes how he gave himself the space to discover how he was going to truly express himself musically (min 50.0).

Laura breaks down how hard it can be to get things done even when you are a successful self-starter - who can relate?
A generous soul, Laura teaches meditation utilizing comedy to demystify a super easy, practical practice. She treats us to a lesson at the end of the show. In addition to comedy club stand-up, she also performs nationally at recovery events including the NA World Convention.
