We start 2019 with an extra long episode for y’alls listening pleasure. We begin with a social media recap and a few recommendations! Warning...this week we drink vodka and say “parallels” far too much.
Cassie opens the episode with the death of Glenn Felts, a vibrant and fun bar owner in Terlingua. Was his death a result of self defense, head trauma, forbidden love, or a booze fueled accident? We also discuss our questions and theories on reasonable doubt and jury selection.
Hannah then finishes out the episode with the strangely familiar murder of Penny Scaggs in Austin. What do you get when you take one dissolving marriage, a steel pipe, a carving knife and add a military husband and an office secretary? You guessed it...murder!!
(HANNAH IS VERY AWARE THAT SHE ACCIDENTALLY SAYS “PEGGY” INSTEAD OF “PENNY” A TIME OR TWO, SORRY IN ADVANCE...IT WAS THE VODKA)
Enjoy episode 44! Happy Halloween and don’t forget to message us if you want a pin or whatever.

Shanna and Diederik Vandewege & Annie Stone
Texas 10-31: A Texas True Crime Podcast
05/10/19 • 81 min
We've got a (semi) light hearted and sober episode this week! We left in a few sidebars and tangents for some much needed humor after last week's insanity, so skip ahead if you'd like!
We begin episode 47 with a follow up story regarding Cassie's new house. First it was blood stained carpet, now it's shower ghosts and a possessed Alexa?? Stay tuned for an update after they sage the place...
Hannah then tells y'all the story of the murders of Shanna and Diederik Vandewege in Fort Worth. Craig Vandewege, the husband of Shanna and father of baby Diederik, is the most likely suspect...but he didn't get that memo. Was he mentally ill and killed his family during a psychotic episode, or has been planning it all along? No trial date has been set...and YES WE DID LOOK IT UP!
Cassie finishes the episode with the one off of Annie Stone in Jefferson, a small town that Hannah literally drove through last week! Annie was a girl in her twenties partying like it was 1877, until one day she was shot and killed. The courts flip flop on the killer's guilt or innocence for several years, but family money may have had a huge part in the trial's outcome.
We talk about some updates in the cases of Sandra Bland and ZuZu Verk as well!
Thank you all for the lovely reviews on iTunes btw! Happy Halloween!!

Melissa Trotter & Kelly Wilson
Texas 10-31: A Texas True Crime Podcast
04/19/19 • 114 min
We have returned! We bring you episode 46 from Cassie’s new house yeaaaa!!
Cassie starts us out with the listener suggested case of Melissa Trotter in Conroe. This case is insane! Circumstantial evidence, possible wrongful conviction... or maybe the guy really did kill her? Biggest question is, WHERE IS THE FREEZER?? Listen and you’ll understand.
Hannah ends the episode with the disappearance of Kelly Wilson in Gilmer. This small town gets overwhelmed when the teenager goes missing, but tensions quickly rise when her case eventually becomes connected to a local “cult” of child rapists. CULTS, CORRUPTION, CONSPIRACY...OH MY!
We hope y’all enjoy the speculation as much as we do!
Happy Halloween!

This week Hannah tells the story of a former border patrol officer who survives a hired hit on his life and several poisonings. These events give new meaning to the phrase "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".

Grace & Tiffany Purnhagen & Diane Maxwell Jackson
Texas 10-31: A Texas True Crime Podcast
02/07/19 • 58 min
This week Hannah and Cassie keep it pretty short and sweet for y'all!
Hannah begins episode 45 with a double homicide in Conroe. Grace and Tiffany Purnhagen were two young sisters who were brutally killed in the woods. Did their killer truly have help or was it all done by one man.. or a bottle..or a broomstick?
Cassie closes the episode with the murder of Diane Maxwell Jackson. Her case had been cold for decades, but in the end her brother's persistence and career change might have been what helped solve her murder.
We'll be guest reading on this upcoming Let's Not Meet episode being released this coming Sunday (February 10). Go support Andrew and his amazing podcast!

Grace Ford & Melanie Goodwin
Texas 10-31: A Texas True Crime Podcast
09/26/19 • 131 min
Long time no see!
We have returned (probably not for long, sorry not sorry) with a brand new episode!
First, we begin with our “Summer of Growth” and give you a little recap of what we’ve been up to for the last 4 months.
Cassie then tells us the about the murder of 2 year old Grace Ford in Plano. The morning that Mitch Ford breaks off his engagement to Melinda Muniz... let's just say she doesn't take it well. After a trip to the Dollar Store and 500 lies later, police are left wondering what really happened to baby Grace?
Hannah wraps up the episode with the long awaited and not completely researched case of Melanie Goodwin. It's 2007 and everyone is watching LAGUNA BEACH or playing HALO3!! Young college student, Melanie, stops to grab some snacks for her boyfriend, but is found the next morning raped, murdered, and also charred from being lit on fire. Video footage comes to the rescue and helps bring her killer(s) to justice.
Kane disconnected Cassie's microphone at the very end..... big surprise
Happy Halloween!!

Christmas Episode: Cheryl Springfield & Cameron Willingham
Texas 10-31: A Texas True Crime Podcast
12/29/18 • 123 min
So our Christmas episode is a bit late this year even though we recorded a week prior to the holiday....what's new.
We have a couple of weird ones this week! Hannah begins the episode with the longest case in the history of this podcast (hence why her notes weren't fully finished) and discusses the unsolved Christmas Eve murder of Cheryl Springfield in Ft. Worth.
Cassie then closes out the episode with the deaths of three young girls possibly at the hands of their father, Cameron Willingham, in Corsicana. The Innocence Project steps in and arson investigators don't make sense.
Enjoy the last episode of 2018 that's full of tangents and stupidity. Happy Halloween!

Lucky Ward & Cedric Owens
Texas 10-31: A Texas True Crime Podcast
12/13/18 • 75 min
Hey everyone welcome to episode 42! This week we begin by gushing over Vanderpump Rules and yelling at our lovely, short lived, listener "Amy".
Cassie starts out the episode with the listener suggested case of Lucky Ward. She talks about a homeless man who prowled the Midtown and Montrose areas of Houston (for most likely decades) robbing and murdering African American women. With no set date, his trial is almost 10 years in the making, and there could be countless other victims police have still yet to discover.
Hannah finishes the episode out with the murder of Cedric Owens in Dallas. What happens when you mix alcohol, baking soda, PCP, and a long history of violent behavior due to sexual assault trauma?? Obviously a brutal stabbing and genital removal....
Happy Halloween!

Survivor Story: Bridget Kelly
Texas 10-31: A Texas True Crime Podcast
12/04/18 • 21 min
Hey guys, we are back with a new addition to our Survivor Story series, long time no see!
In this episode Hannah covers the rape and attempted murder of Bridget Kelly out in Killeen, Texas. Bridget's story is truly one of horrific trauma that would set anyone back in their life. However, she overcomes her attack, makes a difference in the rape culture/community, and ends up finding love all along the way.
Hannah won't stop saying "at this point" throughout the episode (sorry in advance) and Kane makes a distant audible appearance. Enjoy!

Halloween Episode: Kimberly Hill & Debra Jackson
Texas 10-31: A Texas True Crime Podcast
10/26/19 • 79 min
HAIL SATAN Y’ALL, it’s our Halloween episode!
We begin episode 49 with an update and recap regarding the case of Melissa Trotter. (Episode 46 might make a little more sense now)
Hannah then covers the 2014 case of Kimberly Hill; a victim of parricide down in Corpus Christi. This case truly brings the traditional horror elements of Halloween to the party: hammers, sewage, necrophilia, suicide notes, and bestiality.... just to name a few. It begs the question, “How well do you really know your own family members?”
Cassie wraps up the episode with an infamous cold case that just recently made headlines. For 40 years the victim was only known by an article of clothing, but decades of police work, and possibly even Henry Lee Lucas, kept her case in the spotlight. DNA ultimately answered the question of her identity, but will her rapist and murderer ever be known?
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
