In this Weeks Show Shawn tells us about getting his Synology NAS System in and setting it up. Shawn shares how he received not one bad three bad hard drives. He is now waiting for the replacement drives to come in before being able to get it completed. He has discovered how full featured with options the Synology NAS is and now ever more excited about getting it set up. Justin and Shawn discuss Parity drives and how it can be set up. Shawn tells us about Soldering a Wyze product, the Wyze Wall Switch and why he chose to rework the feature. He found the step by steps on Reddit. Giving the gift of Tech isn't always appreciated, the guys talk about knowing if the recipient is open to home assistants and if they already have a home setup with Amazon or Google. Justin is participating in a White Elephant Party and decides to get the TP Link Casa Smart Bulbs for the event however it doesn't go over to well with the Misa. Andy tells us about the iXplore SanDisk Flash drive perfect for the mobile devices.
Shawn decided to spend some money on new products from Wyze such as the Colored bulbs. The guys talk about their wish list for this holiday, for Shawn it’s the El Gato Streamdeck, DJI Avata FP Drone and a Gaming Chair from IKEA. Justin talks about his Chair from Secret Lab and how he was happy with the purchase he made. Andy gets some time and takes up the DJI Mini 3 Pro drone up for a flight and is terrified at the first flight, Justin lets him know it not unusual. For this Weeks TechtalkRadio Show Justin, Shawn and Andy take a look at the cost increases in Software and Services. Google Nest services, Disney Plus and Intuit Quickbooks are a few of these that are on the increase. Andy tells us about seeing a deduction from his bank account from Intuit for an Annual Subscription which has increased dramtically without notification. Andy makes the decision to cancel the Quickbooks Desktop yet has to jump through hoops to get this accomplished however was able to get that done. This ties in to the discussion of AlternativeTo.Net for options for programs to get task done. Shawn tells us about a story in the New York Times Wirecutter Tech Blog about Wyze and how the recommendations for the Wyze Cams have be taken back due to Camera feeds inadvertently showing up on other user accounts. Shawn shares the statement from the company yet is dismayed at followup from Wyze and is hoping they beef up the security of the products.

John Broadway returns and joins Andy Taylor to converse about the latest in Technology. Computers systems for both the desktop and laptop have really continued to work well in performance years after they were built or purchased. Andy's Asus K55 has begun to show a slowdown in performance which he believes could be from a system fan beginning to fail. Asus has been in the news recently with a security hole found in the Motherboard Update feature, the company has since patched the problems which some believed to have affected over a million users. Broadway and Andy share though the consistent quality over the years of the Asus Motherboards. John gives us an analogy of the computer system with comparisons to the Auto World.
John Broadway talks about the Auto Update features on systems and why they are a great solution for security on a system patching holes. Looking for a plan on how to roll out a new Desktop Computer, John shares some good tips. A story about a problem which arose with a Lenovo system however the company’s customer service took care of the situation. Once again, Broadway calls in the best NASCAR reference for explaining RAID.
The guys disagree on the Need for Anti-Virus third party programs for consumers. Over the years the AV programs have changed with results over time that became bloated. Andy swears by the Latest version of Norton however John calls on the Windows Defender program as a good source however reminds, it is about user education to not be click happy!
The computer professionals hired to work on your computer systems should be checked out for references. John feels that background certification should be required as a way to protect end users. Listener comments for Broadway thanking him for his Military service but also praise for his support for Ubiquity products. Why Smartphone are’s so pricey? Are they offering better features? The guys talk about the Streaming Service said to be coming from Apple Streaming. Is Apple coming in too late in the game? John shares why he doesn't think they are.

The new Black Mirror film Bandersnatch is out with a new interactive feature for different paths for the characters. Justin gives us a review about Welcome to Marwan. Andy and Justin disagree on the Film Bird Box however Andy raves about Ralph breaks the Internet. The guys get an email on how to locate good podcast content. Justin and Andy share some locations and how to find via hash tag searches on Twitter such as PodernFamily.
Justin shares his experience moving from Wink back to Raspberry Pi for Home Automation. The process has been made easier and Justin shares the reason behind it.

A Reporter from the Washington Post does a story about trying out the Amazon Alexa Enabled Glasses; he is quoted in the article saying they "drove him bananas" Dennis sends in a question regarding connecting the GoPro to his smart phone, Shawn talks about the process to make it happen.
