Your brain is a pleasure-seeking machine. For some, that pleasure means food. You have sneaky, self-sabotaging thoughts like "I can't wait for the party because we're going to have all this great food" or "I can't wait to try this." These thoughts sound innocent enough, but what you may not be aware of is that these thoughts are the reason you overeat. They cause you to believe that the eating of the food is causing you to experience fun.

When I use the term overeat, I don't always mean eating uncontrollably and binging on everything. I am talking about things like eating the last few chicken fingers off of your kid's plate or eating the last banana that's sitting on the counter because you don't want it to go bad. These are things that you often do without a thought.
You overeat because you don't know how to think like a person who doesn't overeat. It's that simple. You have created a pattern of thinking and feeling and eating that is now on autoplay and you don't know how to stop it. But have no fear. I have a solution for you.
