The Psychological Cost of Infertility with Sheinelle Jones

You may know Sheinelle Jones as the co-host of the 3rd Hour of TODAY, but this morning she's joining me to talk about her latest passion project which takes her from in front of the camera to working behind the scenes as the EP of her documentary, Stories We Tell: The Fertility Secret.

While this is her first film, we all know that Sheinelle is no stranger to storytelling. Since joining NBC News in 2014, she has covered a variety of breaking news events and human-interest stories. Today, we'll be talking about what inspired her to follow five women of color as they reflect on the psychological and physical pain of infertility. They tackle everything from in vitro fertilization (IVF), endometriosis, fibroids, egg freezing to surrogacy. For too long, these women, like so many others, have handled these challenges in silence, but are now coming together to speak their truth with the hope of enlightening and empowering others.
