SAY YES TO ORAL SEX -- WITH GUEST MELANIE CRISTOL
Sex Ed The Musical
05/23/19 • 30 min
In male-female sexual encounters, blowjobs are typically expected while cunnilingus is one of the least performed sex acts. This disparity has been called The Oral Sex Gap and you might be surprised to learn that it’s not just guys who are saying no to cunnilingus.
Many women are concerned that their ladyparts are unattractive or some feel too vulnerable to enjoy receiving oral sex. Plus, thanks to decades of advertising created specifically to make women feel inadequate and unhygenic, many of us, especially those walking along the beach, arm in arm with our moms, just don’t feel “summer fresh” down there.
Whatever the reason, far too many women are saying no to oral sex when they really want to say yes, yes, YESSSSS!
On this episode I speak with Melanie Cristol, the founder and CEO of Lorals, single use latex lingerie designed for carefree oral sex. Melanie founded the company after she decided that using a dental dam is the least sexy part of having sex and there had to be a better solution out there.
Later in the episode, I enlist the services of a married couple who try Lorals and give me their thorough and unbiased review. Even they were a little surprised by the product.
If you’d like to purchase Lorals, go to https://mylorals.com/ and use the special code YAYWENDY for 15% off your first order.
If you’re going to let something get in between you and oral sex, let it be Lorals.

LISTENER FAVORITE -- EXPERT BLOWJOB TIPS FROM A GAY MAN
Sex Ed The Musical
08/13/20 • 18 min
For the second of this month’s Listener Favorite Episodes, here are EXPERT BLOWJOB TIPS FROM A GAY MAN
As you’re about to hear, there is a very funny backstory to this episode and how it all came to fruition. Basically, it was a last minute Hail Mary that turned into a total blockbuster with my listeners. Which, of course, makes total sense.
Now as we all know, Michele Bachmann once said, “No one knows his way around a penis like a gay man.” Or maybe she was talking about her husband?
Either way, it’s totally TRUE!
That’s why on this episode, I went to THE SOURCE! My very dear friend and “gay husband,” Mr. LaRue, to find out exactly what blowjob techniques will blow a guy’s mind.
I hate to call out the Blowjob Education Industrial Complex, whose annual operating budget must 7,504,503% larger than the Cunnilingus Community College budget, but the hard fact is that men are in charge of fucking everything. Which is why womenpeople are inundated with scrillions of classes, magazine articles, listicles, podcasts, instagram posts, Facebook fights, and videos all dedicated to making us Blowjob Beyonces.
Cunnilingus tips? Heeeey, look over there! It’s a boner!
Here is my irrefutable anecdotal evidence: I invited my pal, sex educator Nina Hartley to teach a blowjob class to some of my vanilla suburban friends in my living room, and it was standing room only! And I have a big living room! On the flip side, I had a cunnilingus class in my house and 6 people showed up. That includes me and one friend who happened to be there just to return the Pyrex baking dish they’d borrowed.
So yeah, we’re all getting sucked in to the pressure to become blowjob goddesses. That’s why I decided to go right to the source and got some insane BJ tips from my boo, Mr. LaRue, who knows his way around a boner.
You are about to learn things that I’ve never ever heard. And that, my friends, is saying something.
This, one of my most popular episodes ever, really sucks! In the good way.
Be sure to check out my super fun writing on Medium.com. It’s exactly like the podcast only completely different.

HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! MY MOM THE SEX WORKER
Sex Ed The Musical
12/19/19 • 26 min
When I started working at Playboy TV, people immediately began to ask me how I was going to “explain my job” to my daughter. Strangely, I was never asked that question about any of the other places I worked. After all, I spent years working at NBC and never once was I asked to explain Supertrain. But after I became Head of Programming at Playboy TV, I was repeatedly asked how I was going to justify my job to a 4 year old.
Turns out, my kid didn’t have a problem. On the other hand, there were one or two very judgmental moms at her fancy private school who, after finding out where I worked, tried to make things extremely difficult for me. And the most famous mom of all, was my biggest hater.
Which only proves, no matter where you go, there are always mean girls.
My guest, columnist and reporter Ray Richmond, had a much different experience. His mother went from giving hand jobs to movie stars in a seedy massage parlor across from FOX, to founding a huge sex product empire. That’s right, a tiny, Jewish mother working in a “rub and tug” is the Godmother of the multi-billion dollar lube and sex toy industry.
And the best/most unbelievable part of this story is that her X-rated enterprise was entirely bankrolled by her boyfriend — a well-known Los Angeles restaurateur who also happened to be a married, devout Christian, anti-smut crusader.
Wait, what???
And THAT’S not even the craziest part.
This is a true story about religious faith, true love, and lubrication.
You are not going to believe this.
And, as part of our special Holiday Giveaway month, the fine folks at Überlube have generously donated their amazing sex lubricant.

HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! SAY YES TO ORAL SEX WITH LORALS
Sex Ed The Musical
12/12/19 • 27 min
If you’re a woman in a heterosexual relationship, there’s a good chance you’re getting a lot less oral sex than your male partner. This Oral Sex Gap stems from many reasons. For one, women are pretty much “expected” to give blow jobs to their male partners, while a lot of hetero men easily justify why they don’t return the favor. Is it laziness? Is it patriarchal entitlement? Is it a part of a nefarious brainwashing effort that’s convinced women that there’s something too challenging, unattractive or disgusting about their bodies?
Perhaps...
But, it’s not just the men who are saying no to oral sex with their female partners. A lot of women refuse to accept oral sex. Many women feel too vulnerable or have hypersensitive clitorises which makes cunnilingus difficult to enjoy. Or they bought that load of bullshit that a lot of dudes have been serving up for years.
Whatever the reason, CEO and founder of Lorals, Melanie Cristol saw an opportunity to offer a sexy product that allows women to accept pleasure without feeling awkward or vulnerable. The product, Lorals, are very thin, flavored latex underwear that are like a wearable dental dam...only a lot less awkward.
In this episode, I talk to Melanie about the oral sex gap and how we can ensure that women are receiving as much pleasure as possible.
Later in the episode, I enlist the services of a married couple who try Lorals and give me their thorough and unbiased review. Even they were a little surprised by the product.
AND, as a special Holiday Giveaway, the folks at Lorals have donated a four-pack that will go to one lucky listener. All you have to do to be eligible to receive the free Lorals is go to our iTunes page, subscribe, write a 5-star review and email the text of your review and the name you used to [email protected]
One randomly selected new reviewer will receive a free four-pack of Lorals in the mail. Subscribe, review and email us today so you can be eligible to receive some Lorals!!!
If you’d like to purchase an awesome 4-pack of Lorals, go to mylorals.com today.
Remember, if you’re going to let something get between you and oral sex, let it be Lorals.

_____
Ahhhhh, MENOPAUSE.
All those hilarious memes about hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats, and that wacky brain fog.
But, I promise you, menopause is no joke.
It’s time we all stop being polite, and start getting real about menopause.
On this episode, I have a completely uncensored and candid talk with highly-respected OB/GYN to the stars, and self-proclaimed “vagina whisperer” Dr. Sherry A. Ross.
We talk about pain during sex, what causes it and what you can do to prevent it so you can enjoy sex life again. We talk about vaginal dryness and remedies that work. We talk about the importance of a good vibrator. How to advocate for yourself when you’re at the doctor’s office. We even discuss if “squirting” is a real thing? Hint: It is.
Dr. Sherry and I go there!
This episode answers the questions you have about your middle-aged ladyparts and what the hell is happening to them! The bottom line is this: You don’t have to suffer. There are solutions out there and Dr. Sherry shares them with me right here.

WHAT GOES DOWN IN A SEX CLUB?
Sex Ed The Musical
09/19/19 • 35 min
In every city across America, there are Sex Clubs. Some are private and require memberships. Some require you to send nude photos to make sure you conform to a certain aesthetic in order to be admitted. Some are super elite and cost thousands of dollars to attend for just one night. Some are exclusively gay. Some are exclusively kink centric. Regardless of their individual rules, crowds and aesthetics, Sex Clubs are places where adults can meet each other and have sex right on the premises.
You might think that by entering a Sex Club, you’re immediately surrendering all of your clothes, rights and consent just by virtue of being there. That cannot be further from the truth. In fact, in many sex clubs rules are posted everywhere and entrants must agree to all of the rules before then can join the crowd. Your boundaries and personal space are more respected in a Sex Club than in your typical bar...or grocery store...or subway car...or the myriad other places you can be groped without your consent.
So what really happens inside of a sex club and why would you ever want to go to one?
On this episode I speak with Brad and Tammy McCray, the owners of a unique Sex Club in Portland called Sanctuary. When it comes to Sex Clubs, Sanctuary is an outlier. They don’t require a membership before you can enter (which is common practice for many other sex clubs). They don’t charge male and female guests different entry fees (also common among other Sex Clubs). They are LGBTQ+ and hetero mixed (very rare among Sex Clubs). And they are body positive, welcoming of all gender identities, kinks, and relationship configurations.
And here’s the crazy part — it totally works!
If you’ve always been a little curious, now’s your chance to find out what really happens inside of a Sex Club, what you can expect, what you are always within your rights to demand and how you’re probably safer in a room full of perverts than your local grocery store.
How To Find A Sex Club Near You — Of course you can check Yelp or search “Sex Clubs Near Me” but you’re also going to get a lot of strip clubs, which is not the same thing as a Sex Club.
Check out swinging lifestyle sites such as Kasidie.com, an adult community for sexually adventurous people. It’s not the largest swinger community but it’s very easy to navigate and there are easy to find links to sex parties and sex clubs near you.
There are also couples dating apps out there but a lot of them require you to link them to your Instagram or Facebook profiles. This can be privacy problematic so you may need to set up a new profile that’s not linked to 800 of your closest friends. Although, at least 40 of them should be able to recommend some fun sex clubs. If not, you might want to get some new friends.
RE/INVENTED EMILY SINCLAIR
Sex Ed The Musical
07/28/22 • 26 min
“Follow your bliss and don't be afraid. Doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be.”
Imagine you’ve produced some of the biggest hit shows in television. You’ve won accolades and prestigious, pointy awards for your work. You’re at the top of your game and everyone wants to hire you.
Yet, you’re totally miserable.
Not so hard to believe, really.
In this Re/Invented interview I speak with Emily Sinclair. An executive producer at the top of the TV game, Emily had it all. Executive Producing fancy shows...constant work...big money...someone always handing you coffee the second you want it...life at the top of the TV industry can be very seductive.
On the surface.
But Emily Sinclair had other priorities and instead of being an MVP, she was secretly more interested in the MLS. So, she walked away from the top of the TV industry and found a new home in real estate.
And she’s never been happier.
Tons of us are toiling away in careers we secretly hate. Worried that our colleagues might judge us for leaving. Fearful that walking away will be the biggest mistake imaginable. Well, you only get one life so you can spend it miserable and worried about what everyone else is thinking of you (they’re not). Or you can follow YOUR bliss and do that thing you truly, madly, deeply want to do.
As Lucille Ball once said, “I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.” And you know what, Lucy’s risks led to a pretty fucking awesome life.
- In this conversation, you’ll discover how Emily Sinclair realized she was miserable.
- How she worked through her fears of walking away from a big career, to work for no money at all.
- How she dealt with worries over her family, friends and colleagues judging her.
- Advice for anyone else who’s spending all day miserable instead of taking a big chance...on themself.
INTERVIEW SELECTS:
2:08 Women working in TV basically age in dog years. And there aren’t a lot of women in their 50s hanging around the craft service table. Trust me.
9:33 I was like, ugh, the world doesn’t need another fucking Realtor. And one of my friends said, “The world needs a good Realtor.”
10:23 I was looking for this kind of home and I found it in real estate.
10:58 There’s always someone younger, thinner, and hotter, whatever. There was always someone younger than me who didn’t have kids and was fine with traveling 6-9 months out of the year. And I became that annoying producer who was like, “I really need to be home.”
11:23 I felt like the universe was absolutely just guiding me.
12:11 I felt for sure that people were going to think I was a failure. And there’s sort of a Stockholm Syndrome that comes with being in entertainment. They beat you up, they make you feel like shit. And the moment you do something good, you’re the best thing ever.
12:26 I remembered feeling like, I never want to quit cause I’m not a quitter. I want to hold on as long as I possibly can!
13:15 I watched (my dad) fail so many times I was like, I’m not gonna let go of television!
13:57 I was really concerned that people were going to say, She failed! She couldn’t hack it! She didn’t make it. Like all that sort of mean girls stuff. And what I found instead was people would reach out to me and be like, oh my god, I love what you’re doing.
17:04 When I closed my first deal, it was truly like giving birth to a three headed cyclops.
17:38 I remember getting in my car and I broke into tears, cause I was so happy. Cause I was changing these peoples’ lives.
18:18 I have agency over my life. I decide when and where I work. I decide which clients I want to work with, and I have absolutely fired clients before. I never feel abused now.
19:57 If I could go back in time, and be with myself once again, I would say, “Honey, you are worth so much more than this shit.”
21:26 Don’t worry about the money. It’s gonna fill your soul for the next 20 years or whatever. People get so caught up in the money.
Trust me when I say an Emmy Award-winning TV producer knows all of the secrets to making your house look spectacular. If you’re buying, selling or just buy-curious (hehehe), here’s how you can contact Emily Sinclair:

White & Nerdy...
Since the early 80s, “Weird Al” Yankovic has been churning out hit song parodies, some more enduring than the original songs that inspired them.
An unapologetic nerd and proud outsider, his songs are not just commentaries on pop culture, they’re also full of references to Star Wars, comic books and lunch meats. But there’s something about the “King Of The Nerds” that speaks directly to his army of die-hard fans: It’s 100% cool to be yourself, especially if you’re weird.
One of the outsiders Weird Al inspired is Pickles Kintaro, a burlesque dancer in San Francisco.
In this episode, Pickles reveals how, as an outsider for most of her life, Weird Al’s music absolutely validated her and empowered her to accept herself and then completely celebrate her weirdness. With nothing but a butter churn stripper pole, and a dream, Pickles gathered a team of misfit burlesque dancers with a shared mission. They called themselves, Tight and Nerdy: The First and Only All Weird Al-inspired Burlesque Troupe.
And a legend was born.
Okay, maybe not a legend but a lot of really hilarious shows.
Thanks to Weird Al’s legions of fans and an Instagram shout out from the King of the Nerds himself, the burlesque show was a hit from the jump.
Then they caught the eyes of filmmakers who decided to produce a documentary all about it. The film is called Showgals: The Documentary, and as of this writing it’s currently the second most popular documentary product on Kickstarter. Please support this fantastic film and its lovely filmmakers here.
Will “Tight and Nerdy” faithfully continue their naked tribute to Weird Al? Or are they hanging up their bologna? This question and so much more will be addressed in this very fun and revealing interview.

PARTY ON THE PELVIC FLOOR
Sex Ed The Musical
06/01/23 • 26 min
May was National Masturbation Month! Did you spend all 31 days dialing your rotary phone?
I certainly hope so.
You may not realize this, but one of the keys to stronger, longer lasting orgasms is a healthy pelvic floor. But what is a pelvic floor, and does it require a cork underlayment?
Sorry...I watch a lot of home improvement shows.
On this episode, I talk to Dr. Rachel Gelman. With over 15,000 hours of clinical practice under her belt (pun intended) Rachel is a leading expert on pelvic health. For the next half hour, she’s your guide to, as she calls it, the “cave of wonders.” We learn the ins and outs of these true core muscles and how painful sex, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and many other issues are often signs you should see a pelvic health expert.
We talk about the Kegel industrial complex, menopause myths, and why you should not be afraid to see a pelvic health expert.
At 20:04 Dr. Gelman offers simple tips to help you maintain tip top pelvic health, and even reveals the $25 late night infomercial product that might be the solution to everything.
I am not shitting you! (Hint, hint.)
Absolutely delightful, brilliant and dedicated to ensuring the success of your downstairs business, Rachel Gelman treats people of all genders in her San Francisco office.

CATHY LADMAN MAKES ME LAUGH
Sex Ed The Musical
04/22/21 • 40 min
“Our next comic is a comedienne, so please be nice...”
You may have heard on the previous podcast that last week was a particularly crappy week for me. I needed some serious cheering up. So, I called in the big guns and reached out to one of the funniest people I know. As one of the country's top comedians, Cathy Ladman is a fearless, anxiety-venting performer who draws huge laughs from such taboo subjects as her battle with anorexia to the endless indignities of menopause.
At the top of the comedy world for nearly 40 years, Cathy appeared nine times on The Tonight Show. Johnny Carson was such a fan that she was the only female comic to appear on the last two of Johnny’s Tonight Show Anniversary specials.
She’s made numerous appearances on The Late Late Show, had her own HBO One Night Stand comedy special, and was awarded the American Comedy Award for Best Female Stand Up Comic. A successful comedy writer for television, she’s also a versatile actor who has appeared in such acclaimed shows as Mad Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm, How To Get Away With Murder, Pretty Little Liars, and Modern Family to name a few.
Cathy and I have a lot of fun talking about her early days in clubs, which comedy legends were big part of her nightly childhood bedtime routine, and then I give her some insider tips for turning her recent cancer treatment into a wealth of comedy material.
I’m helpful that way.
You can see Cathy Ladman live April 23 and 24 at the Alameda Comedy Club in Alameda, California. If you can’t make the live show, you can stream it any time you’d like at http://comediaplex.com/.
Check out a terrific archive of her appearances here on YouTube and you should definitely follow her on Twitter @CathyLadman.
I have a brand new book coming out this summer. To get a free sneak preview email me at [email protected] and I’ll send a free chapter your way!
