There are a few things that driving hoopties provide us and those are character building life lessons. They’ve taught us how to be patient, how to be flexible, and even how to put out a fire. From the late late 1950’s to the early 1990’s, there was a small two field little league league park on McKinley Ave in South Bend, IN. Many kids on our side of town had a blast playing there, but the space was simply too small, with no room for expansion, so the original East Side Little League closed its doors and relocated. Therefore, all we have left are the fond memories that will be etched in our minds the rest of our lives.
The majority of this episode is simply a collection of our memories about East Side Little League and while listening, you’ll get a feel for how much this place meant to us. Then at the end of the episode, my parents and I take it WAY back, back to the beginning.
Even though the stories we share are from 30 plus years ago, you can tell from the excitement in our voices that East Side Little League was special place.

Every crew has a member that can only poop at home. Right? While running the streets in the early 1990's, we had a friend that would disappear from the group. We'd turn around and see him standing still, legs crossed, face red, holding in his poop. You'll crack up listening to stories of what can happen when you cannot poop on the road.
If you need a half hour to tune out the world, laugh, or reminisce, this podcast is for you. The first season of MemeryMission is based in the neighborhood that I grew up in, Sunnymede in South Bend IN. You will definitely enjoy hearing stories of us growing up in our neighborhood. A 4TH OF JULY BLAST FROM THE PAST (originally aired July 2021)
If you would have taken a stroll through our neighborhood, Sunnymede, in the early to mid 1990’s, you might have seen random firecrackers flying through the air, bottle rockets being used as projectiles, sporadic booms at odd hours, and the smell of slowly extinguishing campfires in the morning... except this was a neighborhood, not a campsite. In this episode, we share stories that are all based around fire, explosions, bottle rocket wars, and fireworks shows that lit up the night sky over Sunnymede and made many in South Bend mistake Wall St for the Las Vegas strip. Beavis and Butthead were watching an episode of us, when Butthead chuckled as Beavis chanted, “Fire, Fire, Fire”

In the Spring of 1997, five Indiana University freshmen had a vision to turn an ordinary townhome into the epicenter of all things unholy. From 1997 to 2000, Matlock Court Apartment #18 was home to some of the most outlandish behaviors, gatherings, and unidentified smells in Bloomington IN. I sat down with my former college roommates and my family to gather their thoughts on the legendary Bloomington Apartment. This episode focuses on The Smell. A smell that 20 years later still burns our nostrils.

In this episode, my mother, father, sister, and brother join me to share their memories of what it was like to spend a weekend with five university scholars. You'll also learn what WWJD stands for.

This is our final episode of our first season. This episode includes more of TJ and Tony’s mother Kathy as well as my father Joel, reflecting on raising us little knuckleheads. Kathy explains the "Spy Hunter" nickname that we gave her and my father and I discuss his reasoning behind dragging Jimmy and I into a liquor store as 16 year olds (most parents probably would have done the same thing). It also includes some concluding remarks from they guys, summarizing our childhood in Sunnymede.

MemeryMission Season 1 Preview

I welcome you to my new podcast MemeryMission! If you are brave enough to listen, you will hear an introduction to the podcast, as well as excerpts from our first season which is based on the neighborhood that we grew up in, Sunnymede in South Bend, IN.
My vision is to sit down in the studio with decades long friends, capture our memories together, and then share with you in a fun, creative, audio story. Some of these stories are so entertaining (and sadly true), that they need to be shared.
Over the years when we’re hanging out retelling some of our stories, other people, our wives, other family members, are truly taken aback and honestly question and comment on, first, our sanity, second, "How in the hell are you all still alive?", and third, “You need to write a book or direct a movie because you just can’t make this stuff up!" Well.... we're not writing a book or directing a movie (Hollywood did call but we're waiting until the perfect moment.) We are, however, sitting down in the studio and recording some of our tales of dangerously hitching trains, staging fake fights, pooping our pants, fearing the neighborhood bully, playing illegal homerun derby, almost blowing ourselves up, bottle rocket wars, and so on.
