EPISODE 01 -

Living The Next Chapter Book Review: Talk Triggers by Jay Baer and Daniel Lemin
Talk Triggers is the definitive, practical guide on how to use bold operational differentiators to create customer conversations, written by best-selling authors and marketing experts Jay Baer and Daniel Lemin.
Word of mouth is directly responsible for 19% of all purchases, and influences as much as 90%. Every human on earth relies on word of mouth to make buying decisions. Yet even today, fewer than 1% of companies have an actual strategy for generating these crucial customer conversations. Talk Triggers provides that strategy in a compelling, relevant, timely book that can be put into practice immediately, by any business.
Has anyone ever suggested a show to binge on a streaming channel to you? A must-see movie? A song to Add To Your Spotify Playlist? When you know, like and trust someone you are more apt to follow through on their recommendation because you both know, like and trust each other! It happens every day - and it should - if you have a business, if you are an artist, musician or creator of anything really - you want people to talk about you and what you do, even when you are not in the room! What you do and who you are should trigger talk, conversation and interest - commercials are always looking to sell us on something - the words of a friend have power!
Are you an author or publisher? No matter where you are on your literary journey we would love to help share your passion with our audience!

Dave's Audio Book Recommendation for Spring 2023
Storyworthy: Engage, Teach, Persuade, and Change Your Life Through the Power of Storytelling

A five-time Moth Grand SLAM winner and bestselling novelist shows how to tell a great story - and why doing so matters.

Whether we realize it or not, we are always telling stories. On a first date or job interview, at a sales presentation or therapy appointment, with family or friends, we are constantly narrating events and interpreting emotions and actions. In this compelling book, storyteller extraordinaire Matthew Dicks presents wonderfully straightforward and engaging tips and techniques for constructing, telling, and polishing stories that will hold the attention of your audience (no matter how big or small). He shows that anyone can learn to be an appealing storyteller, that everyone has something “storyworthy” to express, and, perhaps most important, that the act of creating and telling a tale is a powerful way of understanding and enhancing your own life.

EPISODE 4 -
Welcome back to Living The Next Chapter, the podcast! We are pleased to introduce you to an author in the making, Tony Saunders!
ABOUT TONY

Two-time Emmy Award winning bassist, composer, producer and son of legendary San Francisco Bay Area keyboardist, Merl Saunders, Tony Saunders’ life has been infused with one musical adventure after another. As an arranger, producer, composer and performer, Saunders has conquered the worlds of jazz, gospel, R&B, pop, rock and world music.
He earned the first of his two Emmys at age 14 for collaborating with his dad on the PBS documentary Soul Is and by 17 was playing with Merl and Jerry Garcia on their collaborative projects. The second was earned for his contribution on the TV show, Digital Journey, on the episode, “China: Their New Digital Economy.”
Though he took one of his first musical lessons on piano from Herbie Hancock, the bass he received from John Fogerty’s brother Tom – and watching recording sessions with famed bassists Anthony Davis and Lee Miles - sparked a lifelong passion for that instrument that now, 50 years later, has led to his emergence as a major independent force in contemporary jazz.

After launching his career with his dad Merl and Jerry Garcia, Saunders embarked on a diverse career that has found him playing and recording with a virtual who’s who of popular music and jazz.

E05 - Interview with Author - Harry Spaight - Selling With Dignity

EPISODE 5
Welcome back to Living The Next Chapter - today we introduce you to the book, Selling With Dignity. Meet my new Clubhouse friend! Harry Spaight on the Living The Next Chapter Podcast
About Harry
Harry Spaight is a Keynote Speaker, Author, and Coach. Having grown up in a small New England town with old school values, Harry became involved in mission work. To support himself he had a small janitorial/office cleaning business. The mission work is what gave Harry the most joy and purpose. That work led him to spend two years in the Dominican Republic working with the local population to improve upon their life skills and spiritual growth.

Upon returning to the States, Harry transferred his skills, working with people, to sales. With very little business acumen, Harry applied the principles from the Bible as a guide of how to treat people. Those principles that were two thousand years old or more still proved to be practical. It was all about serving others. Harry believed that people would buy from him if he had a servant’s mindset. The principles worked. Harry eventually moved and was leading a team of sales professionals in downtown Washington DC, just a few blocks from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Would the principles work in such a competitive market as Washington DC? The answer is Yes. The principles are indeed timeless.
