After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at

his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and

followed him. Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large

crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and

the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why

do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered them, “It is

not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the

righteous, but sinners to repentance.” - Luke 5: 27 - 32

“As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said,

“If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.””- Luke 19: 41-44

“One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great
danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm
subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”-

“They said to him, “John’s disciples often fast and pray, and so do the disciples of

the Pharisees, but yours go on eating and drinking.” Jesus answered, “Can you

make the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? But the time will

come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; in those days they will fast.

He told them this parable: “No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it

on an old one. If he does, he will have torn the new garment, and the patch from

the new will not match the old. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If

he does, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out, and the wineskins

will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. And no one

after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’”

“Jesus called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He told them: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money; no extra shirt. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people
everywhere.” -

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armour in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils. Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” - Luke 11: 17-23

“One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grain fields, and his disciples began to

pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels. Some of the

Pharisees asked, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”

Jesus answered them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his

companions were hungry? He entered the house of God, and taking the

consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave

some to his companions.”Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the

Sabbath.” - Luke 6: 1- 5
