CJ Albertson placed 10th at the Boston Marathon just a couple weeks ago. He lead the race up until around mile 17. CJ is a 2:11 marathoner, he runs for Brooks Running and he is also a cross country and track coach for Clovis Community College. He is also about to be a new dad. Sabrina Little is an ultrarunner. She is a 5-time US Champion, a 5-time US national team member, a world silver medalist, a team gold medalist from 2013, and she previously held both the 24-hour and the 200k American Records. She placed 12th in the 2018 Trail World Championships in Spain to score for Team USA’s Bronze Medal. In 2019, she ran the fastest 100k and 50 mile times for women in the US. Episode 347: Emily Durgin – Catching up on her big year of racing and new sponsor!

Emily Durgin is back on the show today! She was first on the show in the summer of 2020 on Episode 274. If you want to get an introduction to Emily and her running, go check out that episode! So much has changed in her life since we first talked! When we first talked, she had recently announced that she joined the Under Armour Dark Sky Distance team in Flagstaff and she had really just begun taking her professional running to the next level!
This past summer, in 2021, she had a big year! First she placed 9th at the Olympic Trials in the 10,000m against a stacked field. Then she placed in the top 3 at a US Road Championships four times! She placed 2nd at the Peachtree Road Race in a time of 31:49 for the 10k. She also ran a big half marathon PR where she ran 69:49.
Emily also switched sponsors from Under Armour to Adidas along with switching coaches and we get to hear all about those decisions in this episode!
This was such a big year for Emily and it was so much fun to catch up with her on this episode and hear all that she has been up to!

Lanni Marchant is on the show today! Lanni is a Canadian runner and she is a 2016 Olympian where she ran both the 10,000m and the marathon. She held the Canadian record in the marathon for 6 years from 2013-2019 with a 2:28. Since the 2016 Olympics, she has had a wild few years of surgeries, loss in her life, grief and so much that she has walked through. She took some time off of running and you’ll hear what that was like in this episode. After that, she decided to run the NYC marathon this fall where she unexpectedly placed 11th and ran a 2:32. In that race, she raised money for an addiction awareness program.

Grace Barnett runs with the Mammoth Track Club and is coached by Andrew Kastor. She is also a STEM lab teacher for an elementary school. Grace was 7th place at the Olympic Trials this summer in the 1500m where she ran a 4:05 in the final!
Grace ended by being a three time All-American at Clemson University after initially being a walk-on for the team. In November, the weekend of the NYC Marathon, she placed 2nd at the USATF 5k Championships.

Chari Hawkins is a heptathlete for Team USA. In the heptathlon, there are 7 events in the competition: hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m run, long jump, javelin, and the 800m. Chari explains all of that in this conversation as well as how she got into the heptathlon. She went to Utah State University, she is a 2x USA Bronze medalist, and she competed in Doha for the 2019 World Championships.

Today I welcome back Amanda Napolitano to the show! Amanda was first on the podcast in January of 2020 when she qualified for the Boston Marathon for the first time after 20 years of marathoning!! That is episode 220 if you want a little Boston Inspiration!!

Amanda is the Executive Director of the Donna Foundation and puts on the Donna Marathon weekend every February alongside and amazing group of people!!
We are so excited to share about the Donna Marathon weekend in this episode. This is my fifth year partnering with the race and it couldn’t be more special! The Donna Marathon supports the Donna Foundation which helps people who are walking through a breast cancer diagnosis and also funds ground breaking research.

Episode 356: Molly Grabill – 2:29 at CIM

Molly Grabill recently ran a 2:29:17 at the California International Marathon where she placed 2nd. That was just her 3rd marathon. She ran the Grandma’s Marathon in 2019 in 2:35 and she ran the Olympic Trials in 2020 placing 25th in 2:37. Molly has been training in Boulder with the RISE Athletics. That is Nell Rojas and her dad’s training group. She trained with them for 8 weeks before CIM so we get to hear what her training looked like heading into this race. Molly also works full time for a Cyber Security company so she has a full plate on top of training really hard for marathons.
Molly ran for the University of Oregon in college where she was a 5-time All American. She took some time off in 2020 and came back and worked really hard to break 2:30 at CIM. That just speaks volumes to the thought that sometimes we need some rest to come back stronger!
Molly is really sweet and kind and I hope that you enjoy getting to know her in this episode of the podcast!
