5 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Buying Anything
Hometown: Earth
11/24/20 • 19 min
Do you want to save money, your hard earned time, and the planet? If so, this episode is for you! We walk through 5 questions to ask yourself before buying anything so you can start being a conscious consumer. Stop impulse shopping and start making an impact!
So grab a seat and open your mind as we discuss conscious consumerism, which sounds like a pretty complex term, but it just means the increased awareness of our purchasing decisions. It’s trying to use our purchasing power to make a positive social, economic, and environmental impact - or if you’ve ever heard the phrase “vote with your dollar” - it’s the same idea. We discuss things like greenwashing, thrifting, DIY and eco-friendly gifts, buying locally, and digging into the supply chain. And, later on in this episode, I will address ways other than using your purchasing power to make an impact and that will move the needle towards making real environmental change - so be sure to stick around!
