Fisher May Wish He Could Take Back Saban Remarks

Jimbo Fisher wasn't short for words following Nick Saban's comments to boosters alleging that Fisher and Texas A&M "Bought their entire class."

The Aggies' Head Coach loudly and publicly fired back at his former boss with allegations of his own, saying Saban had been playing dirty for his entire career.

With his team teetering on the edge of collapse five weeks into the season heading into Saturday's trip to Tuscaloosa to face the Top-Ranked Crimson Tide and King Saban, who likely already had revenge on his mind following Alabama's loss to the Aggies in College Station last season, Fisher is probably wishing he'd have just kept his mouth shut, even if he won't admit it.

TCU took over where Kansas State left off a week earlier in its game against OU Saturday in Fort Worth, racking up 41 first-half points and 668 total yards in a 55-24 demolition of Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma boo birds are out in full force following the Sooners’ second-straight loss after opening the season 3-0, some already calling for Coach Brent Venables to be fired just five games into his first season on the OU sideline. Venables specialty, elite defensive football that he honed as the defensive coordinator for the Sooners during the early 2000s, and perfected at Clemson winning back-to-back national titles as defensive coordinator for the Tigers, has eluded the new OU head coach and his defensive staff over the last two weeks.

First CFP Rankings Favor SEC Blue Bloods (See, Bama), Lack Respect for unbeaten TCU

The TCU Horned Frogs cannot afford to lose a single game -- NOT EVEN ONE -- if new head coach Sonny Dykes and his team expect to have a shot to play in the College Football Playoff at the end of the season.

That is the overarching message sent by the CFP committee in their initial rankings of 2022 released earlier this week, when despite ranking a three-loss Texas team in the Top 25, and four Big 12 Conference teams overall showing at least some level of respect for the league, the committee slotted 8-0 TCU in the seventh position overall, behind a one-loss Alabama team that has clear flaws when stacked up against the Nick Saban juggernauts of years past.

Those shortcomings have been evidenced not only by the Crimson Tide's first loss to Top-Ranked Tennessee in 16 seasons, but by would-be losses to Texas (minus its star quarterback for most of the game in Week 2) and Jimbo Fisher's now-(3-5) Texas A&M Aggies (in Tuscaloosa no less), a team many have characterized as a complete dumpster fire after opening the season ranked as high as 6th in various polls.
