Intro
Join hosts Abish, Abigail, aaaAAAaaa, and Moroni as they navigate the high seas of humor and hijinks aboard their seafaring vessel. In this episode, the crew shares tales of their attempts to concoct the perfect bespoke cocktail, "Perse-cucumber Cooler" while discussing modern perceptions of persecution, Gen Z fashion, and the Mean Girls musical. With witty banter and playful commentary, they set the stage for a lively exploration of Mormon history.
Scriptures: [00:16:15]
Moroni takes the helm in this segment, navigating the waters of the Doctrine and Covenants with a humorous twist. Sections 2 and 3 come under scrutiny as the hosts provide their unique commentary on Joseph Smith's encounters with the Angel Moroni and the infamous loss of the Book of Mormon manuscript. Amidst the laughter, they dissect the complexities of scripture while injecting their own anecdotes and observations into the mix.
Church Teachings: [00:33:21]
aaaAAAaaa delves into the depths of Mormon doctrine to explore the concept of persecution with a blend of introspection and levity. From its role as a heritage of the faithful to its connection to religious beliefs, the hosts dissect the serious topic with a dose of humor. Through pop culture references and witty banter, they navigate the turbulent waters of historical persecution, offering insights and puns in equal measure.
History: [00:53:44]
Abigail sets sail on a journey through Mormon history, exploring the life of John Taylor, a figure in the Latter-day Saint movement. From his humble beginnings in England to his leadership roles within the church, the host paints a picture of Taylor's involvement in Mormon settlements and his practice of polygamy. Despite the humorous commentary, Taylor emerges as a significant yet relatively unremarkable figure in Mormon lore.

The episode kicks off with Moroni welcoming listeners and the banter immediately takes a left turn, covering everything from bizarre fan interactions to overly ambitious birthday plans involving Vegas and tequila. The hosts dive into an on-air review of a tequila-based concoction, inevitably sparking a drunken math debate about alcohol tolerance versus temple worship.
The chaos reaches a peachy climax with the backstory of their drink of the day, the "Preach Bellini," born from a cruise mishap and a blender full of questionable decisions. Abigail’s self-proclaimed title of "soup slut" derails the discussion into a brainstorm for a soup-and-brothel hybrid business. Naturally, this segues into a hilariously disjointed review of Gladiator 2, leading aaaAAAaaa to share an unsolicited opinion on Daniel Radcliffe's "critically acclaimed chest hair." It’s unhinged, unpredictable, and somehow just the intro.
Scriptures: [00:16:57]
aaaAAAaaa gives the scrippys an irreverent tech-industry twist, hilariously reimagine D&C 70, 71, and 72 as an Apple keynote with Joseph Smith pitching revelations in skinny jeans and a pirate shirt.
D&C 70: Marketed as the first paywall for God’s words, focusing on the "priceless value" of revelations while sneakily introducing a subscription plan for church publications.
D&C 71: The "Clapback Commandment," turning criticism into PR gold by weaponizing truth like a slick marketing strategy.
D&C 72: A divine HR performance review for bishops, complete with micromanagement and eternal probation.
The hosts imagine Joseph Smith as a crypto-bro hustling meme coins and MLM schemes in modern times, leading to tangents about the dubious nature of both crypto and certain church callings. It’s a mix of biting satire and theological hot takes that’s equal parts brainy and blasphemous.
Church Teachings: [00:32:13]
Guest host Claudia dives into Mark E. Peterson’s 1954 talk "Race Problems as They Affect the Church", offering a biting critique of its defense of segregation and opposition to interracial marriage. Claudia dissects the absurdity of Peterson’s arguments, pointing out his moral gymnastics and the church’s awkward attempts to sweep this history under the rug.
The discussion weaves in personal anecdotes and modern perspectives, highlighting how far the church has come—or hasn’t. With a healthy dose of sarcasm, the hosts contrast Peterson’s outdated rhetoric with modern genetics, leaving listeners with equal parts anger and laughter at the sheer absurdity of it all.
History: [0054:53]
Abigail introduces *Stilix*, her snarky new AI research assistant, to help unravel the life of B.H. Roberts, the early LDS historian and church leader with a penchant for polygamy and controversial research. Roberts’ work on the "Views of the Hebrews"—a book with suspicious parallels to the Book of Mormon—is the focus, with Abigail gleefully unpacking the drama.
Key parallels between the two texts include divided civilizations, prophetic themes, and even a "white god" figure that screams plagiarism louder than a college kid copying Wikipedia. The hosts mock the church’s dismissal of Roberts’ findings, imagining him as a frustrated historian throwing papers into the air while the church leadership calmly shelves his research in the "Do Not Open" drawer.
Abigail’s critique

Abigail kicks off the episode with her impromptu role as this week’s bartender, whipping up a glitter-infused cocktail dubbed “Sips of the Spirit”—a questionable mix of coconut rum, passion fruit rum, and Sprite Zero. As Abish, who is out this week, live-tweets her disdain for *Joker 2*, the rest of the crew dives headfirst into brunch leftovers, movie misfires, and Abigail's new part-time gig under the watchful eye of her new boss...Abish. The chaos is set, the cinnamon challenge is mentioned, and brunch is officially a hazardous activity.
Scriptures: [00:16:38]
aaaAAAaaa takes the wheel, guiding us through *Doctrine and Covenants* sections 46 and 47—because who doesn’t want a front-row seat to the early days of spiritual power sorting? As the hosts debate whether Joseph Smith was handing out church superpowers like Oprah, they also caution: don’t try to “eat Jesus” until you’ve squared away your sins. Cue the impromptu musical number—a *Sound of Music* parody celebrating spiritual gifts—because what is sacred scripture without show tunes? Whether spiritual discernment counts as a workout routine is left for you to decide.
Church Teachings: [00:31:36]
Moroni takes center stage, delivering a rundown of the official “Gifts of the Spirit” with a side of sarcasm. Healing? Sure. Discernment? Maybe. Confession under pressure? Absolutely—especially when teenage Moroni was convinced the bishop could read his mind and expose his private moments with, well, himself. The hosts bounce between humor and genuine insight, questioning the practicality of some gifts while reveling in the absurdity of others. It’s a spiritual gift buffet, and everyone’s leaving with a side of skepticism.
History: [00:57:11]
Abigail brings us the weirdest history lesson yet, kicking off with The Book of Pukei—the 1830s satire that beat Mark Twain to the punch, mocking Mormon treasure hunters and magicians. From there, it’s a whirlwind tour through early anti-Mormon silent films, where Mormons wielded villainous mesmeric powers (*Trapped by the Mormons*), collected wives like Pokémon cards (*A Mormon Maid*), and just couldn’t stop dying at the end of every movie (*A Victim of the Mormons*). Abigail’s critique of exaggerated mustache-twirling villains and dramatic death scenes will make you wonder if every Mormon movie villain forgot to read the safety instructions on their own plotline.
As the show winds down, the hosts rally to dedicate this episode to the character “Walter the Magician,” based on an obscure early Mormon figure who, in their words, “took his stuffed toad and bounced.” With heartfelt sarcasm, they toast to Walter and the lost art of magical treasure hunting—because if anyone deserves a spot in podcast heaven, it’s a guy who knew how to pull off a cloak-and-dagger act with a side of polygamy.
In the name of the mystical toad, amen.

This week, Moroni, Abigail, aaaAAAaaa, and special guest Claudia—kicks off with some classic banter. We dive right into Abish’s escape from her in-laws’ basement and the unexpected treasures that came with her new house. Personal stories about awkward moving experiences follow, sprinkled with cringey LGBTQ+ moments, all delivered with the hosts' signature self-deprecating humor. Oh, and don’t miss out on the cocktail of the day, the irreverently named “The False Prophet”—a cheeky nod to this week’s scripture segment.
Scriptures: [00:18:12]
Things get scripturally shady in this week’s Doctrine and Covenants breakdown. aaaAAAaaa kicks off with the saga of D&C 43 and a certain Mrs. Hubble (no, not the telescope), a wannabe prophetess causing divine drama in early church history. While diving into the details, the hosts riff on "the kiss of charity" and throw shade on faith versus science, because really, who wouldn’t prefer a solid scientific method over faith-based plot twists?
This part wraps up with the pièce de résistance: a Trump-style reimagining of D&C 43, complete with fake news jabs and plenty of “huge” moments. You’ll never read those verses the same way again.
Church Teachings: [00:47:03]
Claudia steers us through the construction of the Mormon Conference Center, where 21,000 butts can sit and pretend they’re not thinking about snacks during those three-hour marathons. The crew cracks jokes about the rooftop garden, volunteer labor, and whether Brigham Young was really planning for an earthquake-proof church. The best part? The relentless roasting of church finances, with plenty of digs at “Hinkels” and all the prophetic spending prophecies. Remember, if it’s expensive and over the top, it’s probably sacred.
History: [01:08:51]
Abigail takes the helm on this one, guiding us through the wild history of General Conference. Did you know the first conference in 1830 had only 27 people? The hosts can’t help but imagine them as marshmallow Peeps, just chilling in their pews. They quickly cover the changes in conference scheduling, including how the whole “first Sunday in April and October” thing didn’t stick until 1977, which leads to the hosts pondering the "unchanging" nature of God... or not.
There’s plenty of nostalgia as they reminisce about attending Priesthood sessions in person before the 2013 broadcast revolution (and the inherent gender exclusivity of it all). The history of the Relief Society conference gets a shout-out too, with the crew poking fun at General Conference being a giant role-play for righteous people. Fun fact: General Conference might as well be called “Gen Con”—bring your best costume!
The episode wraps up with a random yet glorious tangent about the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (sorry, *artist formerly known as MoTab*) and their involvement in Trump's inauguration. But that’s not all—get ready for some scarring pop culture moments as the crew revisits cult classics like *The NeverEnding Story* and *The Dark Crystal*. Oh, and don’t forget the nightmares Heather Graham’s recurring nudity in 90s films gave us.
We’ll also be back with future episodes on KSL, the MoTab’s origin story, and maybe some more cocktail recipes—if we can ever get our act together.

Strap in for a rollercoaster of randomness as hosts Abish, Moroni, Abigail, and aaaAAAaaa throw family dynamics into a blender and hit ‘chaos’ mode. You’ll meet a "gay uncle" and a "grandpa," all within the first two minutes—because, let’s face it, titles are just words when your cocktail is named "God's Callin’s." Abish's mixology attempt turns into a Reddit-fueled quest involving Goldschläger, and the results are, well, intoxicating. Throw in some drugged-up painting failures, a baby eating a snail, and existential laughter—just another Tuesday in podcast land. Grab your blurry brushes, we’re painting a surrealist nightmare of life, and it’s hilarious.
Scriptures: [00:17:18]
Moroni breaks down the 39th and 40th sections of the Doctrine and Covenants with the same level of reverence one might reserve for IKEA instructions: convoluted, redundant, and somehow deeply entertaining. James Covel, a Methodist minister-turned-Mormon-rejecter, plays the part of the guy who ghosted God after receiving an existential text. The hosts marvel at the tragic brevity of Covel’s faith journey, with God basically sending a follow-up email: “I thought we had something?” Spoiler: they didn’t. Cue tangents about dogs, trivia, and a lot of side-eye toward celestial micromanagement.
Church Teachings: [00:39:50]
In this episode’s deep dive, aaaAAAaaa compares James Covel’s encounter with Joseph Smith to a painfully relatable high school rejection. Think of Joseph as the "nerdy girl" who asked out the "cool guy" Covel, and surprise—Covel opts out. He’d rather stay with his comfortable life and Methodist clique. The hosts explore God’s so-called “agency” plan, which seems like an unnecessarily convoluted way to say, “Do what I say, James.” Toss in some humorous theology, a bit of skepticism, and the idea that maybe the real win is keeping your Methodist paycheck.
History: [01:03:37]
What better way to start a history lesson than with Mountain Dew Baja Blast-flavored gelato? Abigail serves up this millennial delight before plunging into the weirdness that was Jedediah M. Grant’s life. As a 19th-century Mormon leader with a teenage wife collection, Jedediah’s story is ripe for the sarcastic plucking. The hosts riff on age gaps and the bizarre Mormon tradition of passing wives to a brother post-mortem, with just the right amount of cringe.
Heber J. Grant gets the spotlight, but not without some jabs at his polygamist romantic ventures. His initial proposal to childhood sweetheart Emily Wells fell flat—apparently, polygamy isn’t everyone’s jam. Undeterred, Heber married Lucy Stringham, who must’ve felt like the ultimate "runner-up." But don’t worry, Emily comes back around for another awkward proposal, alongside a third wife, because hey, why not? With biting humor, the hosts poke at the bizarre logistics of polygamy and Heber’s relentless pursuit of wife-acquisition, all while managing a vinegar empire. Now that’s multi-tasking.
Heber J. Grant, the last LDS Church president to practice polygamy, also managed to pull off something weirder—balancing a sprawling family with financial management during a church crisis. The hosts note how his leadership smoothed the financial chaos, but also muse on whether the emotional strain of multiple wives shaped his eventual enforcement of monogamy. Heber’s life was a saga of persistence—whether courting wives or saving t

It is the episode you’ve all been waiting for....
On this week’s episode aaaAAAaaa finally gets his shit together and finishes editing the trial.

Join Abish, Moroni, Abigail, aaaAAAaaa, and special guest Kali Koger for some MST3K inspired trial commentary.
Opening Remarks & Witness Statements: [00:03:11] 2:23:22
In the first segment, we hear the charges, opening statements and the testimony of the victim (Kali’s son), Naomi, Kali, Detective Alexander Wright, and we - kind of - hear the audio from the body camera footage from The Incident.
Listen as the story unravels and Potty’s defense is crumbled. Certainly, Potty wouldn’t be dumb enough to testify a completely false story after the court hears these testimonies and sees the body cam footage. Right?!

Potty's Testimony & Cross Examination: [00:55:59]
In the second segment, we hear and laugh at Potty try to fabricate a believable story for the court. Hear all about tussles, wrestling, imaginary knives, and general hubris of a white man. Who could have predicted a cross examination that would ask clarifying questions? Not Potty it seems.
Closing arguments point out the glaring holes in Potty’s story, and Potty’s lawyer really makes an attempt to patch them all.

Judges Remarks & Verdict: [01:59:35]
In the final segment, we hear the judge break down everything we have heard, and if you listen closely you might even hear Kali twerking when the judge reads the verdict.

Once it is all over, the hosts unpack what they have heard and make some final jokes at the expense of Potty.

Sit back, try to relax, mix up a Potty’s Regret, and join us on one of the most scream-inducing and shoulder-muscle-tensing episodes yet.

Intro:
Welcome to an episode that's about as cohesive as a scatterbrained squirrel on a caffeine high! Join the not-so-holy trinity of Abigail, Moroni, and aaaAAAaaa as they embark on a cosmic journey to discuss their relocation woes that mirror those brave pioneers (or not). You'll be on the edge of your seat as they passionately debate the virtues of mountains versus, well, literally anything better. And who needs life's necessities when there's no wine delivery service in sight? Brace yourself for tales of boozy cravings and the "Miracolada," their drink of choice for surviving this saga. They even manage to sprinkle in a dash of pop culture love, canceled TV shows, and border grievances before diving headfirst into a sponsor message. But really, who cares? It's all just a cosmic joke, after all.
Scriptures [0012:53]:
Ready for a wild ride through the riveting world of scriptures? Moroni has got you covered with an enthralling chat about the Book of Helaman chapters 7-11. Forget about life's mysteries; here, we tackle the real questions—like why anyone would continue from the lengthy book of Alma to dive into more thrilling content. Sit back and revel in the pride cycle theme, new characters who are probably just as perplexing as the old ones, and twists on themes you didn't even know existed. The hosts take you on a rollercoaster of hilarity as they recap events involving Nephi's preaching, prophecies that are probably more convoluted than a soap opera, murders, imprisonments, and power-hungry shenanigans. Because who wouldn't want a sprinkle of divine absurdity in their day?
Church Teachings [00:39:49]:
Hold onto your existential hats, because aaaAAAaaa is here to chat about miracles. Brace yourself for an earful of stories that might have you wondering if someone spiked the holy water with something extra special. Tales of miraculous survival, surprise cash infusions, and divine encounters that are about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face. Join in the laughter as the hosts use their razor-sharp wit to question whether these "miracles" were cooked up in the universe's cosmic kitchen or if there's just something in the air (other than oxygen, of course). Who cares about faith when you can dive into the world of skepticism with a sprinkle of societal critique? And don't forget, in the grand scheme of things, does any of it even matter?
History [01:33:24]:
Let's journey back to a time when nature had a sense of humor—enter Anabrus Simplex, a.k.a. Mormon crickets, the true party animals of the insect world. Brace yourself as the hosts gleefully discuss the "miracle of the gulls" in 1848, where seagulls apparently decided to spice up their diet with a bit of cricket. Thrill as they dissect the irony of seagulls' migration habits and share tales of their run-ins with these feathered fiends. Marvel at how a bunch of scavenger birds accidentally became heroes. And of course, prepare for the pièce de résistance—the crickets. A literal nightmare swarm that makes you question the very fabric of reality. In the grand finale, the hosts invite you to appreciate the California Seagull, because when all is said and done, it's the little absurdities that make life worth living.
Tune in if you dare, because in this universe of chaos, history, scriptures, and miracles are nothing but a cosmic punchline. Who needs answers when you've got questions that don't even

Join the irreverently insightful hosts Moroni, Abigail, aaaAAAaaa, and the audaciously adorable guest Hecate in this uproarious episode titled "Heaping Helping of Hubris." Brace yourselves for a raucous exploration of the parallels between the American Revolution and the Book of Mormon that will leave you questioning the depths of human self-importance.
[00:14:28]
In their trademark style, the hosts dive headfirst into a scripture reading from the Book of Mormon, where comedic banter and wisecracks guide their hilarious summary of characters like Aaron, Ammon, and King Lamoni. Prepare to chuckle your way through tales of preaching, jail time, and repentance, all delivered with a lighthearted touch and a healthy dose of skepticism about the Book of Mormon's authenticity.
[00:42:53]
Hold onto your skepticism hats as aaaAAAaaa takes the spotlight to explore the teachings of the Church and the mind-boggling connections between the Book of Mormon and the American Revolution. Armed with an article from BYU Studies, our intrepid speaker unveils the theories of Thomas O'Dea—a sympathetic yet critical scholar who somehow discovers evidence of 19th-century American political culture hidden in the sacred text. Prepare to have your mind blown! Or not.
[01:09:14]
But wait, there's more! Brace yourself for a whirlwind tour through the history of Joseph Smith and his associate, the charismatic Sidney Rigdon. Delve into their tumultuous relationship filled with power struggles, rebukes, and alleged devil attacks. Laugh along as the hosts speculate about Rigdon's contributions to the Book of Mormon and the financial troubles that shattered the faith of many believers in the Kirtland Safety Society. It's a soap opera of biblical proportions, minus the scriptural sanctity.

As the grand finale, witness Joseph Smith's audacious bid for the presidency in 1844. Marvel at his attempts to garner support by bombarding presidential contenders with letters, only to be met with indifference. Experience the sheer delusion as he forms a council and decides to run for president on an independent platform, with the ever-loyal Rigdon as his running mate. Smith's campaign promises to include everything from gradual emancipation to capital punishment for officials denying constitutional rights. It's a laugh riot, folks!

Tune in to this episode as the hosts dissect the profound connections between the American Revolution, the Book of Mormon, and Joseph Smith's farm smarts with their signature blend of sarcasm, wit, and a pinch of nihilism. Get ready to question the depths of human hubris and maybe, just maybe, find a chuckle or two along the way. Let the hilarity commence!

**Intro:**
Welcome to a captivating episode of our podcast! In our lively introduction, join your hosts Moroni, Abigail, Abish, aaaAAAaaa, and Kali. Kali, back for her third week, takes the spotlight to share her compelling story. We kick off with a discussion about a doomsday cult connected to Mormonism. But before we dive into that tale, we introduce the tantalizing "Second Rumming" cocktail, complete with a mouthwatering recipe. Our hosts also share their current libations and recount a recent mystical experience involving mushrooms by the river, where aaaAAAaaa claims to have seen God in the form of a fractal cat.
**Kali:** [00:07:15]
In our heart-wrenching second segment, Kali bravely opens up about her tumultuous journey as a survivor of abuse within her marriage. We explore the chilling escalation of her husband's controlling behavior, from financial manipulation to isolating her from her family and imposing traditional gender roles. Kali sheds light on the financial abuse she endured, which included her husband siphoning her tax returns, totaling a staggering six-figure sum over the years. We delve into the profound emotional toll this abuse took on Kali, causing her to question her self-worth and revealing the stark contrast between her husband's public persona and his abusive private actions.
**History:** [00:50:32]
Join us as we embark on a historical expedition in our third segment. Abigail takes the reins to uncover the fascinating life of Joseph Morris, a British immigrant deeply intertwined with the early days of Mormonism. Joseph's life was marred by adversity, including coal mine explosions and health issues, yet he emerged as a charismatic figure with unorthodox beliefs. He claimed to be the seventh angel of the apocalypse, preaching doctrines like reincarnation and the immediate second coming of Christ, sparking tension with Mormon Church leadership.
Abigail continues to unravel the intricate tapestry of events surrounding Joseph Morris, including conflicts, convictions, and ultimately, his tragic murder. We meet George Morris, Joseph's level-headed brother, who played a pivotal role in seeking justice and redemption amidst the chaos. As the episode unfolds, we witness the disbanding of Joseph's group into various splinter factions, with some finding solace in a different branch of the church under Joseph Smith III's leadership.
Join us on this rollercoaster of emotions, stories of survival, and a dive into history as we bring you another enthralling episode of our podcast.

Intro:
Join aaaAAAaaa, Abigail, Moroni, and Abish for another wild ride through irreverent humor and insightful banter. In this episode, the hosts kick things off with playful greetings to their beloved listeners, affectionately dubbed "campers" and "shit bags." aaaAAAaaa sets the tone with promises of laughter and a splash of information, highlighting the loudest laughter moments. They dive into bespoke cocktail "The Tree Witnesses" and share amusing anecdotes from their thirties, including Barnabus's hilarious Vegas escapade gone wrong. The conversation meanders through aging, TikTok trends, and Hollywood's underbelly, with detours into Bill Murray documentaries and Nickelodeon's treatment of child stars. Childhood memories of Nickelodeon shows and thoughts of buff JK Simmons add nostalgic charm before the segment wraps up with sponsor messages.
Scriptures: [00:13:18]
Abish takes the reins in this segment, exploring sections four and five of the Doctrine and Covenants with a healthy dose of wit and sarcasm. The discussion centers on Martin Harris's quest to witness the plates and God's directives to Joseph Smith. As they dissect the revelations, the hosts reflect on mortality through the lens of untimely deaths, from Steve Irwin to Anton Yelchin. Emotional connections to figures like Bindi Irwin add depth to the lighthearted banter, blending humor with moments of contemplation.
Church Teachings: [00:37:44]
Moroni leads a spirited discussion on Church teachings, focusing on passages from Doctrine and Covenants 4 and 5. The hosts share personal anecdotes of scripture memorization and explore the cultural pressures of Mormon upbringing, particularly regarding missionary work and tithing. They turn their attention to Ezra Taft Benson's 1983 talk, dissecting his views on virtues and self-control, including his controversial stance on masturbation as "self-abuse."
