Interview avec Mounia Meddour, réalisatrice et scénariste de "Papicha". L'histoire se passe à Alger dans les années 1990. Le pays est alors en pleine guerre civile. Nedjma (incarnée par Lyna Khoudri) est une jeune étudiante algéroise qui rêve de devenir styliste. Mais dans cette société où l'islamisme radical est de plus en plus présent, sa féminité et sa soif de liberté (qui font d'elle une "papicha")posent problème. Malgré cela, Nedjma va résister et se battre en organisant un défilé de mode, bravant ainsi tous les interdits. Dans cette conversation, Mounia Meddour nous partage son histoire: l'influence de son père, le réalisateur Azzedine Meddour; son adolescence à Alger; ses premiers pas en tant que réalisatrice de documentaires; sa volonté de mêler la réalité et la fiction dans son cinéma; comment l'histoire de "Papicha" est née; pourquoi son premier film est intimement lié à sa propre histoire; et les difficultés pour montrer le film aujourd'hui en Algérie. Hossein Amini is an Iranian-born British screenwriter and film director. He was nominated for an Academy Award with the film "The Wings of the Dove". He is the pen behind the movies "Drive", "Jude", "47 Ronin" or "The Two Faces of January".
